About this property
Luxury Villa Surrounded by Olive Grooves
Summary:
This beautifully restored 19th-century farmhouse offers a charming blend of rustic character and traditional Italian style. Once functioning as stables, the guest area is now thoughtfully renovated with original stonework, exposed beams, and a U-shaped layout centered around a serene courtyard. Surrounded by olive groves, pine trees, and expansive grounds, the estate provides a tranquil setting with a panoramic sea view from the magnificent infinity pool. The property spans 20 acres dedicated to olive cultivation and is renowned for producing high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil distributed throughout Italy and Europe.
The Space:
Guests are welcomed through a tree-lined road that opens into a courtyard flanked on three sides by the villa. A shaded pergola runs along the front of the building, offering an inviting space with sofas and armchairs, and a large outdoor dining table adjacent to the kitchen. Inside, the main living room includes a sofa, armchairs, and a dining table for 6 to 10 people. The separate Sicilian-style kitchen features its own dining table for 8 and has direct access to the outdoor dining area. Three bedrooms are located off the living room: one with a double bed, another with twin beds (convertible to a double upon request) and a third single bed, both with en-suite bathrooms, and the third bedroom with a king-size bed and private bathroom.
A separate entrance under the pergola leads to a mini apartment with a living area, small kitchen, dining table, and sofa. This space includes a fourth double bedroom connected via an arch to a second living space with a single bed-sofa and access to an en-suite bathroom. A cot can be added upon request. Another exterior corridor under the pergola leads to the laundry room and barbecue area. An independent annex near the outdoor dining area has a double bed-sofa (1.40 m wide with a 15 cm mattress) and an en-suite bathroom with shower, and can be arranged as either a bedroom or a lounge.
Guest Access:
Guests have full access to the courtyard, terraces, living areas, pool, and outdoor dining areas. The estate grounds include 20 acres of olive groves with walking and jogging paths, a shaded gazebo, a bocce area, a ping-pong table, and various lounge spots throughout the property. The infinity pool, located 150 meters from the house, measures 7 by 14 meters, with a depth ranging from 1.5 to 2.4 meters. It features a central slope, trampoline, and chlorine filtration. The pool area includes sunbeds, sofas, and armchairs, and is open from May 1 to October 31.
The Neighborhood:
The property is situated in Piana di Licata, a scenic and authentic area surrounded by small towns and rich in cultural attractions. Notable nearby sites include the Greek Temples of Agrigento, the Kolymbetra Gardens, the Cathedral of Salt in Realmonte, and the innovative Farm of Favara. The region also boasts some of Sicily's most beautiful beaches and bays, making it an ideal base for both exploration and relaxation.
Getting Around:
A private road lined with trees leads to the property, ensuring easy access for vehicles. The layout and setting encourage walking throughout the grounds, while a car is recommended for visiting surrounding towns and attractions.
Other Things to Note:
Guests visiting in September and early October are welcome to participate in the olive harvest and follow the process from tree to bottle.
