Town: A very pretty village on the edge of Bodmin Moor, located close to the A30, making it the perfect base from which to tour the many visitor attractions within easy reach. Altarnun itself boasts quaint stone cottages, a stream running through the village, a lovely old church, and a traditional country pub. Port Isaac, a filming location in Doc Martin, is a busy port where you can still watch the fishermen hard at work. Walking and cycling are popular activities in this area and there are beautiful churches and historic buildings to discover. Venture a little further afield and walk the high tors of Bodmin Moor, surf the waves of the North Cornish coast, sample the delights of the Eden Project or take a cruise from Truro down the misty reaches of the River Fal to Falmouth. There's something for everyone nearby, from moors and river valleys to beaches and harbours, stately homes and museums to potteries and galleries.
