Unsafe, unclean and scary
Our family stayed at this home during our trip to Sintra. I had three major issues. It is an isolated farmhouse on a very large piece of property that is undergoing renovations currently. We stayed in two units that were not connected. Our first issue was that a man came into my adult daughter's bedroom at 4:00 am. I told the owner about this and she apologized and said the construction team member must have entered the property without authorization. I am not sure why someone had a key to access the property during our stay. This was extremely scary and concerning. The second issue was that there was a large puddle of black mold in the bed and on the wall. The unit had a mold odor. The owner did have someone change the sheets right away but it should not have happened. She did credit one of my nights for this problem. And finally, it was a very long walk to town through a locked gate, up and down a dark path with tree roots and broken stone stairs. My son slipped and fell on the stone stairs. We got lost on the property when trying to find the home. I was surprised this home is listed on VRBO. I have been renting homes on VRBO for many years and have never had problems like this before. It is unsafe, unclean and scary.
