Great short stay

Macs Leap is a great property in a idyllic location. Central to many towns this property is perfect for a short break exploring the area. Whilst the property was lovely, we felt it would have been nice to have had some essentials provided on arrival I.e. bread, milk, butter etc. As mentioned within the description of the property, there is a lack of fencing on one side of the garden which was an issue, one of the neighbouring properties was very aware of this problem. This is something that could easily be remedied whilst maintaining the aesthetics of the garden. Beds were really comfortable, unfortunately the same could not be said for the living room furniture as all sofas and the chair were really uncomfortable. Open fire was lovely.

Beautiful accommodation in a great location

We had a wonderful stay at Mac's leap. The accommodation was clean, well equipped, beautifully furnished and in an excellent location to visit all the Cotswolds have to offer. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend!

Fabulous but watch the dogs in the garden!

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. Great location with footpaths to explore from the village. Only downside for those taking dogs is the garden is definitely not secure - the hedge down one side gave very easy access for the dogs to next door and not so easy access for the owners to recover them. It was a shame as it’s a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sun and the dogs had to stay on the lead.

Weeks break

Macs Leap is in a tranquil location and was perfect for what we needed on a working break. High end finishings throughout. Comfy beds and very sumptuous towels. Handy to have a washing machine and tumble dryer too if you're tall mind your head going into the lounge doorway (only doorway you need to duck) Went on at least 7 different rights of way dog walks, all in the village which was fab as my own village only has 2. Downsides the fridge was leaking water, the glass ceiling light fittings were grubby in the hall, kitchen and main bed, stained pillow in downstairs bedroom. Maybe a little tired in some areas. Out of season this didn't matter to us but if I'd paid 1k for a week some of these details would have mattered to me personally. Garden isn't dog proof, no artwork was in the garden as others mention so must have been removed. My dog didn't escape but I did need to monitor them. This area of the country in every village inc this one is in the main, high gates, entry buzzer, type high end affluent properties but the people encountered were friendly, it just feels a little odd community mix wise. But as a quick holiday base it's great.

Wonderful cottage

You couldn’t ask for more. We stayed during February half term and had a wonderful time. The cottage is in a picturesque village, with a small play area on the green and lots of great dog walks. It’s a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. The cottage itself is beautiful, well stocked for a holiday cottage, with comfy beds. It was also lovely and warm. It’s been well thought out, with luxurious homely touches (hand made curtains, a TV in the master bedroom, his and hers wardrobes for example). It’s a great retreat to relax and unwind. We didn’t want to leave. Communication from StayCotswold was excellent from booking onwards. This was our first time using this company; we will be booking again. Thank you for a wonderful week.

Just what I needed

Macs Leap was beautiful. It had everything we needed. The rooms were bigger than I expected and the beds were really comfortable. We stayed here to visit most of the cotswolds which made it the perfect place to stay.

A lovely place to stay, very quiet but also very cosy. Easy to find, following the instructions given to us made the whole experience a lot easier. Would absolutely stay again!

Short Stay

Loved our 3 night break at Mac’s Leap. Lovely cottage, wonderfully restored and extended. Just a few small issues…. Garden not secure for dogs, needs some fencing, some hooks around the place would be useful, particularly bedrooms and bathrooms, fridge was leaking water and kitchen bin didn’t stay closed! Sculptures in garden a little odd (but understand this is a personal view), you could easily take your eye out with one of them! Despite the above few points, we really loved the cottage, which was clean and comfortable. Great location for walking.

Macs Leap is a Cotswold gem

A wonderful cottage in a quiet location. We only used the ground floor part of the house but regretted not using the upstairs bedroom and bathroom as the downstairs bedroom was slightly damp and difficult to get good airflow for ventilation. The large garden was excellent for our dogs and the kitchen area offered substantial space for us all. Lovely lounge room with comfortable furniture and a magnificent fireplace area. Parking is a bit awkward for a large vehicle but manageable all the same.

Immaculate cottage in a stunning location

We stayed for four nights at this beautifully located cottage, it’s situated right by the village green. It’s in the most peaceful, stunning little village. Only 8 minutes drive to either of the bigger towns, Moreton-In-Marsh or Stow-on-the-Wold. Only 12 minutes to Daylesford Organic. We enjoyed numerous country walks with our dog straight from the door, including a lovely Byway walk to Chaselton House. Macs Leap was the cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in, not a single crumb found in the kitchen or any cupboards. The bathrooms were also equally spotless. No cobwebs or dust to be found anywhere. The cottage has incredibly high quality furnishings, and a huge amount of time had clearly been taken landscaping the garden- the sculptures in particular were lovely. We moved a bench in the garden across a gap in the hedge to ensure the garden was secure enough for our large dog (our apologies that we forgot to move this back as promised the morning that we left!) We would absolutely love to stay at Macs Leap again.
