My husband stayed for three weeks while starting a new job until our new house closed. The rest of the family came to stay the last week. So a month total. Well maintained apartment, quiet and had what we needed. The host reached out several times to make sure my husband had what he needed. Overall good experience.
This place was very close to kimmswick mo where my food trailor was participating in a charity event witches night out.,..the directions how to get in was communicationed well prior to coming. It was a very warm and cozy place to stay in a quiet neighborhood...
Great place! Wonderful host, always asking if we needed anything or if he could help in any way.
Floyd has a great place, quiet, clean, well stocked and he was very helpful. Always asking if everything was going well and if we need anything. Next time we come to St Louis we will stay with Floyd again.
I cannot more highly recommend Floyd and Karen as hosts. Communication was prompt and pleasant, and they offered us some flexibility with checkout due to my flight leaving late in the day. The apartment was full of thoughtful touches for an enjoyable stay. I'd happily stay in this property again.
Some things to be aware of:
1. There is a kitchen with an apartment-sized stove and oven and a full-size refrigerator. The table for dining is very small and seats two, so plan to sit outside or in the living room if you're going to cook meals for more than two people.
2. This is an apartment connected to a house, so expect apartment living situations like (a small amount of!) noise and cooking smells.
3. There are several steps (with long, platform-style treads big enough to comfortably stand on) down to the apartment as well as a walk-in shower with about a 6-inch step up. Be aware of this if you're traveling with someone with mobility concerns.
We enjoyed our stay. We loved that it had a grill to BBQ. Having a full size frig/freezer was great. We plan to stay again. Thanks for sharing your home.
Our stay was good, layout of apartment was odd but it worked okay for us, twin bed in laundry area with access through the other bedroom. We were a little disturbed to see that owner had been in the apartment while we were gone without saying anything to us, for 2 women traveling alone with kids it made us uncomfortable.
Everything was as advertised. There was plenty of space for our family. The beds were comfortable. It was well stocked with extra blankets, towels, coffee and tea. Even though my kids are older and there was snow on the ground, they still enjoyed the playground equipment. The yard would be great in warmer weather.
Second time staying here while visiting family in the area. Spacious for us 3 adults (with plenty of room for 1 more). Great location and value for us! Genuine hosts with the gift of hospitality!
Owners double booked the apartment at the last second I had to scramble to find another place to stay. I ended up having to stay 40 minutes out of the way.
The place is so amazing and so peaceful! Our weeklong stay was awesome and Floyd was extremely responsive to anything we needed or questions we had. I will definitely be booking when I come back!!!
PS- there is also a full size fridge now that isn’t mentioned in the description, a trundle that turns into a king and an extra twin bed in the back room and the bed in the master (also a king) was like sleeping on clouds!
We absolutely loved staying at Stewart Acres. Not only was it great for us, but our family loved coming here as well. The grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the lovely yard, trampoline, & treehouse. It was such a restful & beautiful place for my husband & me. Very convenient to every need. The Stewart’s were so accommodating! We recommend this highly.
This lovely basement apartment is unbelievable! Imagine everything you need while traveling and this place has it! Every detail is covered and the Stewart's are the sweetest people! This place is also tucked into a quiet neighborhood just a few miles from the major thoroughfares to St. Louis, local shopping, river accesses, beautiful walking trails, restaurants, and other Missouri landmarks! It's like being at home away from home! It's kid-friendly with a little fort/slide, a swing, and a trampoline! It's parent/adult-friendly with room to spread out by the grill/fire pit, and there are delivery services and ride services that are quite reasonable! The Stewart's have thought of everything to make your stay stress-free and quite lovely!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
This property was quiet, somewhat secluded & pleasant. My husband & I were able to share time with our 8 year old granddaughter & enjoy quiet evenings, slept well & were able to do laundry before heading home again. It was just the space we needed. Since we don't have a Roku account, however, we were unable to watch TV, but that was ok, contributed to the quiet. Overall an enjoyable stay.
They would make sure we were comfortable during our stay. They supplied all the essentials. Close to a lot of restaurants. Just overall a good experience!
The property was just the right amount of space, they have plenty of hang out areas outside across their acreage for socializing. They have all the appliances you would need. It was nice not having to worry about anything. Owners were nice and accommodating if anything is needed. Highly recommend.
Although slightly farther out than we would have liked, this is a lovely setting. The quiet lot was beautiful and we stepped outside one evening to discover a beautiful deer in the side lot! Comfortable bed with fine linens too.
Thanks Floyd & Karen

Floyd is an excellent host. The property is well maintained and well supplied with items such as chargers you may forget. We appreciated the availability of the washer and dryer since we were there for two weeks. We would definitely come back.

Why they chose this property
I was raised in the country but after I lived in the big city for a while I found I was at ease either place.
At close to retirement time we found this property which offered big city closeness with great country charm.
For us, we believe this fits our needs wonderfully.
What makes this property unique
In a very few short minutes we can be in St. Louis or the opposite direction and be sitting on a country river.
