About this property
The Old Stores - Rede
Spend a day at the races, explore beautiful gardens, discover excellent eateries or indulge in some retail therapy – this stylish getaway is the perfect base for all kinds of holiday activities. In a brilliant location in Suffolk’s lovely countryside, it provides a warm welcome for a romantic retreat for two or a getaway with family or friends. A picturesque treat, this mid-terrace flint cottage is reached by two steps up and, once inside, you’ll find a beautifully decorated, open-plan living space. For additional warmth in winter, you could switch on the wood burner-effect gas fire, and there’s a Smart TV so you can stream your favourite shows when you want to relax. The bespoke kitchen includes all you’ll need for culinary happiness, including a dishwasher to make cleaning up quick and easy. A shower room completes the ground floor, and you’ll find a second shower room upstairs, along with the two appealing double bedrooms. Here, you’ll appreciate the gorgeous period features, which include exposed beams and a flint wall. For outdoor relaxation, you can take a drink or a meal to enjoy at the bistro table and chairs in the space at the front of the cottage. Rede is a quiet and pretty village set within delightful countryside, 2 miles from Whepstead, where there’s a welcoming pub and from which you can set off on an array of circular walking routes. This is also a great base for exploring historic destinations: Ickworth, Kentwell Hall, Melford Hall and Lavenham Guildhall are all within 10 miles. Fancy a flutter? Newmarket Racecourse is only 14 miles away, while historic Bury St Edmunds – known as the foodie capital of Suffolk – is 6 miles away, and the university city of Cambridge is 21 miles away.
