About this property

8 Minute Walk to the Bonnet Bch - Really! Bright, clean, comfortable. Sleeps 5.

21 Leonard Bodwell Rd, Narragansett, RI. It is an easy, eight minute walk to beautiful Kelly Beach; or bike in two minutes. [Don't be fooled by other listings promising "walk to the beach". Check a map!] My house offers a quiet, relaxed setting. It is BRIGHT and CLEAN and BREEZY. FULLY FURNISHED, INCLUDING LINENS. There are two bedrooms and one bath w/ shower stall, plus an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. I have a queen bed in one bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom, and a very comfortable fold-flat sofa. The kitchen and dining/living room are fully outfitted. I have a picnic table & propane grill out of the sun on the carport. The washer & dryer are accessible via a bulkhead. Cable TV, smart TV, and fast Internet provided.

The best sales pitch I can make is that at least half of my summer tenants are people who have stayed in the past and return year after year.

It is a ten minute drive to Narragansett Pier, famous for its beach and excellent surfing; fifteen minutes to Galilee for the Block Island ferry or charter fishing; ten minutes to Jamestown or fifteen minutes to the world-renowned resort city of Newport ; twenty-five minutes to Providence, home of Waterfire, arts, and great restaurants; ninety minutes to Boston. Also visit RI's amazing southern coast, Watch Hill and Mystic Seaport.

Check-in at 2pm; check-out at 10am. No pets of any kind are permitted because I am allergic. South (Washington) County, RI selected by Money Magazine's top 10 'best places' to vacation in US. This is a beautiful area. Come visit!

A Real Beach House in a Great Location

This rental reminded me so much of the beach houses I used to rent with my friends and family when I was younger. Great neighborhood and location, within walking distance to the beach. You can even hear the waves crashing when sitting on the patio at night!

Cozy, Clean and Funky

In a great location, the cottage is clean and functional and we appreciated the sense of humor in the information binder left by the owner.

Great!

Just finished our wonderful vacation at Bonnet Shores! The owner was very responsive and definitely takes great pride in his property. This is an old school beach house and is not fancy, but is clean and has everything you need. The pictures in the listing don’t do it justice. Super nostalgic and charming. Made me weepy remembering our rental in Misquamicut when I was a kid. There is a yard, which is great for kids, and we took advantage of it. The picnic table in the carport is perfect. You can walk to the beach. If you have small children, you’ll want to put them in a carriage because it’s just long enough for little legs to get tired. You can also pull up and drop your stuff off by car if you need. The beach is excellent, family friendly, manageable waves. There is a little bit of the usual disdain for renters, but overall people were friendly. The beach at its most crowded was still far less than other RI beaches. A few notes: The laundry is in the basement which you reach from outside through a bulkhead. The TV is not a smart TV, but Wi-Fi was very good so you can access your streaming services via laptop or other. There is not a ton of open cabinet space to put your groceries, so plan ahead for that. I used the cardboard boxes that I transported everything in. We will be back. It was a great house, in a fancy neighborhood, with nice owners AND close to the beach!

Great Little House

We stayed here this summer. It’s a great little house, perfect for families. Short walk to Kelly Beach and they provided Tom each towels, boozy boards and beach chairs. The owners were very nice and really easy to work with.

Relaxing home away from home

Wonderful neighborhood with short 7-min walk to the beach for those days you just want to keep it simple, and for ended up being really nice sand/water at that local beach. Otherwise, convenient drives to larger beaches and sites around the area. Good size backyard for our 7 and 10 year old to play in and keep themselves amused while we prepared food. Dan provides lots of good info and is very accessible and helpful. A really great find!

Perfect location for a quiet beach getaway

Location is perfect, just blocks from a nice, quiet beach in Bonnet Shores. House is small but great for 2 adults, 2 kids, and had all the necessities. Its an excellent home base for spending a week at the beach. Dan was very responsive to our questions before the trip, check in and check out were a breeze. Would definitely stay again!

Great deal for a beach property!

This would be our first time using HA as well as renting a home. Overall the location of this cottage was amazing! Literally a less than 5 min walk to Kelly Beach (private beach for property owners). The cottage had all the amenities you’d need! Linens, fans, beach chairs, grill, tv, full kitchen, living room, and washer/dryer . The carport gave us shade for those steamy summer days and a great place to have a cookouts when we wanted to eat in. It was clean and property owner was super nice and easy to work with. Location is everything and this property was that and more. Quick drives to Newport, Wickford , and Wakefield. Brickley’s Ice Cream was just a few mins away. We also explored the local bike paths. This quaint cottage was charming with all the conveniences of home. I would consider renting again!

Great price for walking distance to beach!

We have stayed at several places in Bonnett Shores. This home is really the best deal for what you get. It is clean, comfortable, well stocked, in a quiet neighborhood and walking distance to Kelly Beach. The owner is kind and easy to work with.

One of the BEST beach rentals I've experienced.

Very nice neighborhood!! Comfortable house with all the necessities provided plus a few extras, like wireless internet service. The house is cozy yet spacious (our two small kids loved it) with everything you need to make this truly a home away from home. The carport has a picnic table and a grill provided for those evening cookouts. The house and property are well maintained. The beach is just two minutes away by bicycle. Rhode Island also has many bike paths, including a few very nearby( one is the William C. O'neill or South County bikepath. Another bike path that is about an hour drive is the Blackstone River bikepath, it is definitely worth the trip ( and while you're in that area don't miss Wrights Farm bakery!!) There are many other attractions (i.e. lighthouses, museums, gardens such as the "Green Animals Topiary Garden", antique stores, etc.) in the area, most are less than 30 minutes away by car. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and we will definitly consider this for a vacation destination next year.

I am a lifelong resident of Narragansett and, as a child, lived 3 houses away from this VRBO property. My family eventually moved into the center of town years ago, and I bought my own home in a neighborhood north of Bonnet Shores in 1989. Narragansett is a great town, and Bonnet Shores is a great beach community.

Why they chose this property

Bonnet Shores is a fun "beach vacation" neighborhood in a "beach vacation" town. It is an easy walk to the beach, which has soft sand and beautiful water.

What makes this property unique

This house sits on a very quiet street in Bonnet Shores, "high and dry", sunny and breezy. It has a large kitchen and comfortable sitting area. It has a large yard for kids' games, etc. And, my favorite, it has a picnic table and gas grill on the carport so you can sit / eat outside but be out of the sun.
