About this property
Casa Zafferana with Terrace by Wonderful Italy
Bright three-room flat with a terrace in the center of the Sicilian village of Zafferana Etnea.
Situated on the first floor of a house without a lift, the flat has an American kitchen with a dining table, oven, kettle, and everything you need for cooking. The living room is furnished with a dining table, sofa and TV. From here there is access to the terrace and its open-air dining area overlooking the city.
The sleeping area consists of two rooms both with balconies. The first room has a queen-size bed and a wardrobe. The second room is furnished with a wardrobe, a single bed, and a second pull-out single bed on request.
A bathroom with a shower and hairdryer and a toilet complete the layout.
*Upon arrival or a few days before arrival it may be required to pay a tourist tax, which varies according to local regulations. You will find your reservation details within the Guest Area of Wonderful Italy.
We also offer our guests authentic experiences to live in contact with the locals. If interested, contact us; we will be happy to help you create your perfect holiday discovering the beauty of Italy.
The city of Catania boasts a splendid historical center, protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Its architectural wonders, the liveliness of the popular markets, the wild beauty of Mount Etna, and the clear sea of the coast will captivate you.
The Cathedral of Sant'Agata (the city's patron saint), the Bellini Theatre, the popular markets, Via Etnea, the splendid Benedictine Monastery (home of the University's Department of Human Sciences), and Mount Etna are just some of the wonders of this city.
Of course, it is impossible to leave out the culinary delicacies of the Catania tradition, such as arancini (yes, here they are called masculine!), iris (fried or baked stuffed bombs), Olivette di Sant'Agata and brioche with granita. Try them all!
And for lovers of barbecued horsemeat, a symbol of Catania's gastronomic tradition, a must is Via del Plebiscito, a street in the historic center flooded with the unmistakable scent of the embers always burning.
Another not-to-be-missed stop just outside Catania is the coast and in particular the Gulf of Acitrezza, an enchanting place that with its Faraglioni stacks was chosen by Giovanni Verga as the setting for his most famous novel, 'I Malavoglia'.
Catania Fontanarossa Airport is easily reached in less than 1-hour drive.
