Known worldwide as the city built on water, given its construction on 100 lagoon islands, Venice is one of the most popular Italian destinations for global tourism.
It can be defined as an open-air museum, thanks to its numerous historical and artistic testimonies preserved and represented by numerous churches, palaces, and museums.
Walking through Venice is like taking a dive into the past; the so-called calli (streets) are scattered and framed by aristocratic buildings such as the Doge's Palace, the historic residence of the Doges, by spectacular bridges including the famous Rialto Bridge and by canals navigable by gondolas, vaporetti and boats of all kinds.
The heart of the city is the enchanting St. Mark's Square, which houses the namesake Basilica and welcomes thousands of tourists from all over the world every day.
The most prominent event in the area is certainly the Carnival, which attracts the attention of most travellers in the world, thanks to its centuries-old tradition of masks and costumes that animate the streets every year.
Finally, an activity not to be missed if you decide to visit this magnificent and evocative location is certainly the famous Bàcaro Tour, a typical initiative that involves tourists in a tour of Venetian taverns with glasses of typical wine and cicheti, small tasty appetizers.
The accommodation is 2.8 km from Venice Santa Lucia station.
