About this property
The Old Barn - Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 8
This impressive, spacious barn conversion is situated in the popular village of Nottage, on the outskirts of Porthcawl. The barn dates back to 1826, and it has been sympathetically converted to incorporate the old part with modern interiors. In the village, the barn benefits from pubs, a coffee shop, a village store and a village green all on the doorstep. Porthcawl is a seaside town located on the south coast of Wales. Porthcawl is known for its picturesque coastline, sandy beaches, and vibrant community. Spend a day with a visit to the Porthcawl Maritime Centre and the Museum or Rest Bay beach (both 1 mile away). Have a day out at the Kenfig Nature Reserve (2.5 miles) or visit Ogmore Castle (8 miles). A picturesque ruin located near the confluence of the rivers Ogmore and Ewenny. The site provides stunning views and is popular for walks along the riverbank.
Enter the house into a spacious open plan kitchen/diner. The kitchen/diner has been fitted with a fully fitted kitchen with double Belfast sink. Sit at the large island/breakfast bar whilst chatting to the evening chef. The utility room has ample storage cupboards. From here, you can access one of the double bedrooms, with an en-suite benefitting from a free-standing bath where you relax the day away. On the other side of the property, leading from the kitchen/diner, is the cosy snug; relax here reading a book or watching your favourite TV show. The lounge/dining room is a large room with a dining table for those evening meals. This room has exposed beams, a stone fireplace with log burner and French doors, giving access to the courtyard. Up to the first floor landing, there are doorways to three bedrooms and the family bathroom. The main double bedroom has ample storage, a dressing table and two Velux windows. The bathroom has twin basins, WC, a free-standing bath and separate shower. Bedroom two is a double room with built-in storage cupboards, two large double glazed Velux windows allowing natural light to pour into the room. The en-suite has a walk-in shower and WC. The last bedroom on this floor is a good sized double room with built-in storage cupboards and exposed beams.
The property is entered via gated access into a secluded courtyard leading to the front entrance, where there is a table and chairs for evening drinks or morning coffees Nespresso Coffee machine.
