It lies approximately 13 miles to the west of Hull and has excellent road links to the east coast and the famous city of York. There are good amenities in the village, with a wide array of shops, pubs, restaurants, tea rooms, a Post Office and a bank, and a monthly farmers’ market held in the market square. Cave Castle is a central landmark, a gothic mansion house, which is now a hotel and the accompanying grounds form the local golf club. The surrounding area is peppered with traditional market towns, including Beverley and Market Weighton, whilst the seaside town of Hornsea can be reached within an hour’s drive. South Cave provides a good base for exploring the countryside, the cities of Hull and York and the many attractions in the area.
