About this property
Lythe Barn, Grassington
Deep in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Lythe Barn sits just a stone's throw from the Dales village of Grassington overlooking glorious Wharfedale and the river Wharfe. A romantic getaway for two, or a relaxing retreat for a solo traveller, this hideaway is in an excellent location for accessing a variety of country walks of all lengths, with some great places for refreshments along the way.
Originally a barn, the property was converted into a spacious and luxurious one-bedroom home in 2024. The sleeping accommodation is on the ground floor, with the light and airy first floor containing the living areas.
The first floor comprises of an open plan living environment featuring original stonework, beams and double height ceiling. There is a bespoke and well-equipped fitted kitchen, and an adjacent dining area with dining table seating four guests. The seating area has a comfortable large sofa with a Smart television and cosy wood burning stove. The barn benefits from a glorious aspect to watch the sun go down. Furthermore, there is a study area with small writing desk for those seeking a workcation. Four skylights flood the first floor with natural light, and to the front vista of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and river Wharf fill very window. On the ground floor, the master bedroom hosts a super-king size bed (this can also be configured as 3' twin beds on request) and is served by en suite facilities with a large shower and free standing bath.
Outside, the small courtyard can be accessed via the bedroom on the ground floor. This offers guests a chance to relax underneath the canopy of stairs on a balmy summers evening, or dine al fresco from the gas barbecue provided. Better still, take the footpath to Grassingto to enjoy the night off from cooking, and indulge in one of the many eateries in this popular market town, home to the channel 5 series All Creatures Great and Small. Lythe Barn truly is a wonderful destination for couples seeking a refreshing break with a touch of luxury added for good measure!
