Region: From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
Town: The small rural village of Derwen is surrounded by beautiful scenic countryside consisting of pretty farmland, rolling wooded hills and the Clwydian and Berwyn Mountains. Close by is picturesque Ruthin which has a 700 year old history, boasting attractive, half-timbered buildings, mainly clustered around St Peter's Square, along with interesting shops and buildings and the Ruthin Craft Centre, which houses work by internationally recognised artists and craftspeople and is well worth a visit. Beautiful countryside is on Ruthin's doorstep, with Lakes Bala and Brenig, Moel Famau, Loggerheads Country Park and Llandegla and Clocaenog Forests close by. Further afield, but still within easy touring distance are the coast, the stunning Snowdonia National Park, picturesque Llangollen and the wonderful historic city of Chester.
