A fantastic holiday retreat located in a wonderful area, on a direct walking route.. Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: (3 Steps), Freeview TV, Electric Woodburner
Kitchen: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet
Second Floor:
Galleried area: 2 X Single (3ft) Beds (Accessed Via Bedroom 1)
Bedroom 2: Double (4ft 6in) Bed. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate. External utility room with tumble dryer and washing machine (shared with other properties on-site). Front garden with garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are steps down the gardens and the original limestone paths may be uneven.. Abbots Abode is a characteristic cottage sleeping up to six guests in two bedrooms. On the ground floor is a spacious, fully-equipped kitchen with farmhouse dining table to seat all guests, and a comfortable living room with ample seating, electric wood burner and TV. On the first floor is a family bathroom with shower over bath, a double bedroom and the second bedroom has four single beds - please note two of the single beds are up a short and secure ladder to the mezzanine, perfect for kids. There is a shared utility room on site with washing machine with hanging space to dry wet coats or boots. The property has a garden to the front with stunning views down the Peak District valley, it is a perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee while planning your day ahead.
The views from Monks Retreat are beautiful, just a short walk away you have an extensive panorama or seven dales and can see far out into the distance to the high moorlands of Axe Edge and Kinder Scout. The Limestone Way trail runs directly through the farm so you can easily hope on to this for your first exciting Peak District walk, there are many in the area such as Monsal Trail, High Peak Trail and Tissington Trail to name a few. Local to the property is Buxton town which offers an array of restaurants, pubs and shops, as well as the famous opera house that has shows on regularly. Bakewell and Matlock are also nearby to explore, as well as Chatsworth House. After you have enjoyed a fun-filled day head down to the local pub to enjoy some local ales and home cooked food.
