About this property

The Manor - sleeps 12 guests in 6 bedrooms

As if plucked from the pages of a design magazine The Manor is a distinguished escape, set between the delights of historic Cheltenham and Cirencester. Find inspiration in the original period features of exposed Cotswold stone which sit alongside stylish contemporary additions creating a warm and welcoming space full of character.

Made for mingling you are spoilt with two reception rooms; a snug with its cinema like TV waiting to showcase your favourite blockbuster and the sophisticated drawing room where reminiscing and sharing stories are a priority. The spacious entertaining kitchen is a wonderful space for quick breakfasts and afternoon tea, while for evening meals treat yourselves to a private chef who will feel at home in the exquisite prep kitchen. Meals are then served in the fairytale-esque dining room where the crackling woodburner and beamed ceiling add magical ambience. When the evening winds down, choosing your favourite bedroom is a challenge. Unique characteristics define each, but all offer a room to call your own during your stay where peaceful nights and uninterrupted mornings are welcomed.

Within the grounds you will find the superb private pub. Stepping inside you are transported to a country gentleman's lounge where the bar is stocked with spirits awaiting your chosen mixer. You are sure to while away many an hour here engrossed in discussion and games of darts.

Embracing the English sun, the gardens beckon where meals can be taken al fresco and the children will enjoy the freedom to play. Many footpaths criss-cross your surroundings allowing you to explore. Head to the Green Dragon Pub and Elkstone Studios to pick up some local produce or for a game of padel. Nearby the spa at Cowley Manor is the ultimate destination for groups looking to relax and unwind.

Ground Floor

Drawing Room
Adding elegance to your stay, the drawing room can be an escape from technology, though a TV can be provided if you would prefer. Sink into one of the plush armchairs with a cup of coffee and set the world to rights with your fellow guests, lighting the woodburner as the day draws to a close.

Snug
Get the popcorn out and settle in for a movie marathon in the cosy snug. Perfect for younger guests looking to escape conversations or for anybody who can't miss an important sporting event.

Entertaining Kitchen
The kitchen is beautifully spacious with a large central island and a woodburner tucked into the corner. With space to sit at the breakfast bar, pop the kettle on for a cup of tea and slice of cake in the afternoon. The AGA here is not in use and guests are encouraged to use the well-equipped prep kitchen.

Prep Kitchen
Adorned in vintage style handprinted wallpaper, the prep kitchen is a chef's dream. Family roast dinners and multi-course feasts are sure to be on the menu with the range cooker available here. The traditional wooden units provide plenty of preparation space and everything you could need is easily to hand.

At the end of the prep kitchen you will find a boot room and access to one of the terrace dining areas. Returning from a walk this is an ideal spot for leaving boots and coats.

Utility/Pantry
Alongside the prep kitchen sits the utility/pantry with laundry facilities, a fridge and freezer, and pantry cupboard where you will find some cooking essentials.

Dining Room
The exquisite dining room sits in the oldest part of the house. Dating back to the 17th century the walls are of exposed brick and the woodburner has an impressive inglenook surround. The windows frame a view of the side garden, bringing the outdoors in. With a dining table seating 12, this is where you can gather together for a special meal and pop the champagne.

Cloakroom
Tucked away behind the kitchen, the cloakroom showcases an equine theme with heritage wallpaper and stirrups on display.
First Floor

Bedroom One
Hidden away up its own private staircase behind the kitchen, passing a marvellous feature wall of stamp wallpaper, the master bedroom is tucked beneath the eaves. This hideaway has a super king-size bed letting you stretch out and enjoy a wonderful night's sleep. There is space here to work if you must and plenty of storage room.

En-Suite
It'll be hard to draw yourself away from lavish bubble baths in the freestanding tub, and if you prefer a shower you're well provided for with the large walk-in rainfall shower.

Bedroom Two
With a king-size bed reminiscent of a horses' bridle, bedroom two is a real country affair. Above hangs a chandelier crafted from antlers and shades of blue add a touch of royalty.

En-Suite (Jack and Jill)
Alongside bedroom two, the en-suite can also be accessed from the landing. A large rainfall shower and vanity unit are here for freshening up while the WC is tucked away separately.

Bedroom Three
The minimalist king-size four-poster bed rests peacefully beneath a ceiling of clouds. Finished with a tranquil colour scheme it is a pleasant room to call your own for a while.

Bedroom Four
This spacious bedroom at the rear of the house enjoys the peace and quiet, with a super king-size bed for a great night's sleep.

Bathroom
Adorned in the same equestrian wallpaper as the ground floor cloakroom, the main bathroom has a fabulous saddle display. Relax here in the rolltop freestanding bath or invigorate yourself ready for a country stroll in the rainfall shower.
Second Floor

Bedroom Five
On the uppermost floor of the house, bedroom five has a king-size bed. Under the apex this dual aspect bedroom is bright and airy.

Bedroom Six
Mirroring bedroom five, bedroom six has a double bed and also enjoys views to both sides of the manor.

Outside

Private Pub
A unique bonus, The Manor has its own private pub in the grounds, converted from an old lambing shed. The bar, stocked with spirits, is yours to pour from. Savour a sip in this characterful pub where you can play darts, flick through the papers and spend time with your friends and family.

Garden
The garden encompasses three distinct areas giving you the chance to catch the most of the sunny weather. To the front is a gravelled parking area and lawned garden which reaches around to the side providing space for games of croquet or a picnic. From here is a side garden with a terrace and a bistro set for an early morning coffee. You will spot the historic well which once supplied this house with its water. Outside the prep kitchen is an al fresco dining area surrounded by potted plants, perfect for lunches, and you will find a second dining area beside the pub. A gas BBQ is available on request, and opening the doors to the kitchen this is a fabulous space for entertaining.

Best house in the cotswolds

One of the best houses me and my group of friends have ever stayed in. Location is great and there are lots of walks that you can do nearby. The private pub on site was also a hit! The owner was so helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. We will be back!

A memorable stay in a beautiful manor!

We had a wonderful and unforgettable stay at The Manor, a beautifully maintained and charming property that offered both comfort and elegance. The house was incredibly clean, spacious, and cosy, with so many unique rooms to explore. We especially loved the living room, where we enjoyed family movie nights on the big-screen smart TV. The dining room was also stunning, perfect for our family meals. Victoria, the property manager who lives on the estate, was fantastic—always available and ready to answer any questions, making our stay even more comfortable. Our time at The Manor truly made our trip to the Cotswolds unforgettable, and we would absolutely return in the future!

A Perfect Winter Getaway at "The Manor"

We had the most amazing weekend with friends at "The Manor". The property is absolutely stunning, with beautifully decorated rooms and cozy fireplaces that create the perfect ambiance for a winter retreat by the fire. Victoria was an exceptional host, going above and beyond to make our stay special. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a delicious cheese platter, and the fire was already lit for us. She also provided excellent local recommendations, which we greatly appreciated. The house was spotless, and the bedding was of outstanding quality. The heated mattress pads were a luxurious touch that made our stay even more comfortable. This was by far the best rental experience I've ever had in England. I can’t recommend "The Manor" enough and would love to return!

Wonderful place to stay

Everyone loved the Manor - we were stuck indoors because of the storm but with so much room this was not an issue. Wood stoves were great. The main kitchen is a focal point so could have done with more chairs. Arrangements for late checkout were disappointing. Decorations were smashing and the welcome pack - very welcome, THanks
