About this property
Hunter Chalets - Chalet Four Twenty L'Élé
Summary:
Four Twenty L’Élé is a masterpiece in architecture and design having been transformed in 2016 from a traditional barn into a stunning, modern chalet. Floor to ceiling windows, industrial influenced features and traditional wooden beams coupled with designer fixtures and furnishings make this property a calm, chic and minimal place to enjoy your winter or summer holiday from.
The Space:
The entrance level of the chalet is a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area that is flooded with light and sunshine through the massive glass fronted wall that looks out to the garden and Parc des Dérêches. The glass doors open on to a balcony that enjoys the sunshine throughout the day and in to the evening. Also taking in this view is the sitting area that surrounds a wood burning stove and a large dining table complete with Vitra rocking dining chairs. A piano in the living area adds to the elements of fun that have been incorporated in to the design of Four Twenty L’Élé, whilst the iMac, iPad, GoPro© and printer mean that you have everything you need for business requirements and to stay in touch whilst on holiday. The kitchen is open to the living area making it a sociable environment and it is well equipped with everything you need for self-catered holidays. A laundry room is situated behind the kitchen with a separate washer and dryer.
Central to the living area is a stunning glass staircase that leads to the upper bedroom level. Two bedrooms and a master suite are located on the top floor and all are en-suite. The master suite has a super king sized bed and looks out over the living area, taking advantage of the glass fronted wall and valley views. The bathroom has a beautiful free standing bath from which these views can also be enjoyed. The original exposed beams, which are integral to the design of Four Twenty L’Élé, are a stunning feature within this open bedroom. The further two bedrooms can be configured as either twin or king .
The lower level opens out in to a second living space that is perfect for allowing groups with children or different families sharing to have their own area. A large living room with a wood burning stove and television is central to the lower floor as well as the open plan dining area and second kitchen. A large private balcony is accessed from the living room which offers a second outdoor area from which to enjoy the sunny aspect. Leading off from the living area are two large en-suite bedrooms. The bedrooms can be configured as king or twin and the extra large sofa in the living room also doubles as a sofa bed if required.
The design of Four Twenty L’Élé lends itself well to multi–generation groups and groups with more than one family sharing as the layout provides two designated living quarters with independent kitchens, dining and living areas that open up to create one large chalet allowing guests to enjoy the best of both worlds.
There is adequate parking for 4 cars and storage for skis and boots at the entrance of the chalet. Heated boot warmers will dry out and warm your boots ready for the next day. In summer there is access to a lockable store which is suitable for bikes. A sheltered outdoor area provides ample space for working on bikes, skis and boards if required.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire Chalet throughout their stay.
The Neighborhood:
Winter
With a ski area of over 650km and twelve linked resorts, the Portes Du Soleil is the largest connected ski area in the world and offers an unrivaled diversity of ski terrain. Regularly voted best for families, Morzine has direct access to numerous beginner slopes as well as a multitude of red, black and itinerary runs. Avoriaz is a snowboarder’s heaven and has parks and airbags to keep the thrill seekers entertained.
Morzine lies in a sunny valley and offers direct links towards the slopes of Nyon and Les Get or Avoriaz and the Swiss border. For those looking for a challenge, the Portes Du Soleil circuit will see you cover the vast majority of this area in one day! Avoriaz is statistically the snowiest resort in France meaning that even those looking for some spring skiing will find excellent ski conditions only a high speed gondola ride from Morzine town centre.
Sprinkled across the slopes there are numerous mountain restaurants and plenty which can be accessed by non skiers too. The famous Village des Chévres is the perfect lunch spot to sit outside on a sunny deck and meet up with all skiing and non skiing members of your party.
Morzine town itself is thriving in the winter with bars, restaurants, a fitness centre and swimming pool and is a perfect blend of traditional French alpine culture and modern ski resort facilities.
The nightlife and après ski in Morzine is an ever growing scene that includes live music, DJ’s, micro breweries and an excellent selection of bars and night clubs. Whether on the slopes or in town you will find bars and music to suit all tastes and an excellent choice of live events including the famous Rock the Piste Festival.
Summer
Morzine comes alive in summer and is a true year round resort. With picture perfect scenery and a beautiful summer climate, Morzine attracts families, walkers, road bikers, mountain bikers and a whole host of local and foreign visitors who come to enjoy all it has to offer.
