About the host

Host profile image
After living many years in Asia, Daniel and Ross moved to Cornwall having discovered beautiful Mevagissey, and buying this incredible converted warehouse in 2016. Following years of sensitive restoration of the building into luxury apartments, with the introduction of unique Asian influences and stylish designer touches, they enjoy nothing more than welcoming guests from all over the world and sharing their laid-back lifestyle in one of the most beautiful regions on the planet.

Why they chose this property

Mevagissey, located along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the country, is an authentic working fishing village exuding character and charm. With a range of restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops, and just a short distance from numerous stunning beaches and coves, what makes Mevagissey a great place to live also makes it a fantastic holiday destination. Its central location in South Cornwall serves as a fantastic base for exploring not only the nearby Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden Project, whilst a relatively short drive from the stunning Roseland Peninsula ( Gorran Haven, Portscatho, St. Mawes),Fowey (30 minutes), Newquay (40 minutes) and Truro (35 minutes). St. Austell railway station is a 10 minute drive.

What makes this property unique

With its prominent location adjacent to the harbour, Quayside has, over the centuries, played a key role in the life and development of Mevagissey. Initially constructed in the 1700s as a pilchard press on the ground floor with net lofts above, over the course of its lifetime it has also served as a doctor's surgery, undertakers and snooker hall.
Now, after complete renovation, it serves as luxury self catering apartments, an antique shop and the private home of owners Daniel and Ross.
