About this property
Castell Cwtch, Llangrannog
Located in the picturesque village of Llangrannog, Ceredigion, Castell Cwtch (Welsh for ‘cuddle castle’) is a charming period coastal cottage ideal for a large family holiday, romantic break and/or a ‘work from home’ getaway where a tranquil life from a bygone era is reinvented to complement our modern needs. A newly converted annexe at the bottom of the garden, with the same charm and quaintness as the main cottage, has its own private tranquil decking area over the beautiful little Nant Hawen stream and access to the main patio and house area.
At Llangrannog, you will find two striking granite cliffs frame the idyllic Blue Flag sandy beach and the breathtaking seascape. It is only a 500-yard walk from the front room to the beachfront. The village has a friendly local pub and a couple of quaint cafes – perfect for watching the slow pace of life pass you by.
Llangrannog is famed for its impressive cliff path walks and stunning beaches. It has an array of nearby activities, including surfing, sailing, fishing, bird and dolphin watching, golf courses, go-karting, paintballing, horse riding or enough open space to take a deep breath of fresh air get away from it all. The market towns of Cardigan and Aberaeron, 12 miles away, have shops, delicatessens serving local Welsh produce, galleries, and supermarkets. The surrounding countryside is full of secluded coves, ruined castles and abbeys.
The owner of the property is a local man who is proud of his local area. He has created a fun and informative local smugglers manual with must-do activities for children and an introduction to the locals that make this unique destination tick - from landlord Mike of the Pentre Arms to Steve the most knowledgeable dolphin tracker in the west. This insider know-how adds that extra dimension to your perfect getaway. For those guests who do not require the annexe, we are happy to offer a discounted price out of high season.
