About this property
Shore House: Beautiful New Beach House With Breathtaking Views of Atlantic Ocean
The Shore House is a newly built beach house for 8 people, with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean.
The house has a lap pool and sun deck, and is just a 2 minute walk to the beach for an early morning dip.
But you’ll find it hard to pull yourself away from The Shore House’s top floor and deck, the perfect spot for watching the sun go down as whales and dolphins swim by.
The deck flows out from an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, which has a wood-burning fireplace for winter evenings. Another deck off the kitchen is the perfect place for breakfast.
There are four tastefully furnished ensuite bedrooms with king or queen-sized beds.
The Shore House is the ideal place for relaxing and recharging the batteries, but it's also a great place to reflect, work and unleash your creative talents.
There is off-street parking for up to three cars, and the beach house also has a solar-power system to keep the lights on at all times.
The Shore House is on Beach Road in Scarborough, a seaside village that’s long been Cape Town’s best-kept secret.
Scarborough is a conservation village that’s also the southernmost settlement on the Atlantic side of the Cape Peninsula. Nestling between the mountains, the sea and Cape Point Nature Reserve, it’s one of the most stunning locations in South Africa.
From baboons and tortoises to whales, seals and otters, nature is never far away. Backed by trails through fynbos-covered hillsides, Scarborough has two stunning beaches: one covered in mussel-flecked rock pools and the other made for summer swimming and round-the-year surfing.
The village is just 15 minutes drive to Cape Point Reserve, and 20 minutes to Simon’s Town, with its unique colony of African penguins.
Scarborough also has its own boho-chic: the product of a village that mixes artists and surfers with writers and conservationists. It also has an increasingly lively selection of cafes and restaurants.
However, Scarborough’s greatest secret is its tranquility: a peacefulness that comes from walking its beaches and untarred roads, star-gazing the Southern Cross at night, or listening to the crash of Atlantic breakers.
Scarborough is less than an hour from the heart of Cape Town, but it’s also a world away.
