A car is necessary. Regarding the beaches, you have the choice between sandy beaches and rocky coves in the north of the mountains. The next sandy beach is in Puerto de Alcudia and is perfect for families as it has every service you can imagine, Playa de Muro is a quieter beach, protected by dunes. If you like walking, you can reach Alcudia to Can Picafort, through all Playa de Muro. In the Tramuntana you find beautiful coves of stone like Port des Canonge and Port de Valldemossa.
