About this property
Holiday home on the houseboat Rooms on Water in Rotterdam centre
Rooms on Water is a 40-meter long ship, whose hold was converted in 2017 into a beautiful group accommodation for standard 12 people, I now offer it during the week and on some weekends also for max 8 people. You then have 4 bedrooms instead of all 6. The space is however exclusive for your group.
All bedrooms have a private bathroom with shower and floor heating. These cozy bedrooms have air conditioning (hot / cold), and opening porthole (round window), floor heating and a wardrobe. There are 2 single beds, which we can convert into double beds on request.
The living room is very attractive and cozy. With a large glass wall along the indoor entrance, two large koekoeken (wooden skylights with glass), several robust oak tables and an old wooden carpenter's bench, the atmosphere is warm industrial. You can make yourself comfortable here. Hang out on the lounge sofa, play games at a table, or cook as a group, slide the tables together and have a wonderful dinner.
Above the living room on deck is the roof terrace. Here you can enjoy the evening and the city dynamics.
Rotterdam: everything close by
A stay in Rotterdam means shopping, architecture, a ride in the water cab, enjoying the lively Market Hall or the real market (Tuesday or Saturday), strolling along the Old Harbour with its historic ships, shopping in the Hoogstraat, Koopgoot or Meent, or a museum visit. All these hotspots are within a 5 - 10 minute walk from Rooms on Water.
Of course you can rent bikes and discover the city that way, or take a great walk along the river Maas or through the lesser known parts of the city.
But from Rotterdam you can also get to the beach in 45 minutes. There is even a metro going to the beach at Hoek van Holland. By metro or train you can go to the beautiful historic cities of The Hague (40 min.), Delft (less than 30 min.), Leiden (around 40 min.), Haarlem (over 1 hour), Amsterdam (over 50 min.) or Utrecht (50 min.), by water bus to Kinderdijk or Dordrecht....
In short during a stay on board Rooms on Water you can enjoy a very nice varied vacation. Discover Rotterdam and see a part of the Netherlands.
I, Moniek the owner, live on board in the former skipper's house, the guests live in the former ship's hold. Normally we do not or hardly meet outside.
Note: If you are organizing a bachelor party, Rooms on Water is generally not suitable. Rooms on Water is not a party boat. Reservations can only be made under strict conditions. Please contact the owner before booking to discuss your request.
Please note: The ship is not suitable for children under 9 years of age.
Please note: The rental price excludes final cleaning (€145) and tourist tax (6.5%).
The deposit is €500

About the host
Hosted by Moniek van der Werff

Hello my name is Moniek van der Werff and I am the owner of the ship Wilhelmina, better known as Rooms on Water. I sailed with guests on a former barge for many years. In winter, we rented it out as a group accommodation and b&b in Rotterdam. I liked that so much that I converted the ship and rented it out full time in the centre of Rotterdam. I live on board myself in the former skipper's house.
