About this property
William's Nest - Period Gem with Garden & Terrace
Gladesville House, 2 Mill Street was built in the 19th century Arts and Crafts Style and is packed with original features.
This is our most stunning apartment, spacious, yet homely. It has many period features and a beautiful hand made kitchen. The charming garden incorporates two outside seating areas.
You enter the house through the communal front door and this apartment is situated on the ground floor. The two bedrooms can be accessed off the corridor. They feature high ceilings, original wooden floors, William Morris wallpaper, decorative fireplaces (not in use) and sumptuous furnishings.
The master bedroom (emperor sized bed) is to the rear, with french doors out to the garden. The second bedroom is to the front, featuring a luxury king-size sofa bed with a superbly supportive, 14cm fully pocket sprung mattress and a (2nd) sofa, allowing it to function also as a lounge.
The kitchen/dining room is beautifully crafted and has a great atmosphere. The large table seats 7. So, it’s possible to have friends round for dinner.
The south-facing multi-level garden features two dining areas one just outside the kitchen and the other under a cozy shelter with elevated seating to afford views of moors in the distance. It is for your private use.
Gladesville House, 2 Mill Street was built in the Arts and Crafts Style and has been lovingly restored by the owner. It is packed with original features and William Morris designs. Chagford is a great base for walking, bouldering, cycling, spotting wildlife and Dartmoor ponies, sightseeing (Castle Drogo, Stone Lane Gardens) and fine dining at the local restaurants or the Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park Hotel which is a short drive or 40 min. walk away. Chagford can be reached by public transport.
Pets are welcome (a fee applies).
