About this property
Malt Shovel House - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 6
Providing spacious, fresh and stylish holiday accommodation for friends and families, this beautifully decorated property makes a fantastic getaway for beach lovers, golfers and nature spotters exploring a breathtaking part of the Kent countryside. The house lies close to the heart of Sandwich, a delightful historic town with great pubs, restaurants and shops all within a few hundred metres. Known for its half-timbered houses, Sandwich is home to attractions such as the Guildhall Museum, the Sandwich Medieval Centre and the White Mill Rural Heritage Centre. The town sits along the banks of the River Stour as it flows towards Sandwich Bay, with other attractions including the Royal St George’s Golf Club (2.5 miles), Richborough Roman Fort and Amphitheatre (2 miles), and Pegwell Bay Country Park (7.5 miles), all within 5 miles. Deal and Ramsgate are just along the coast, both within 10 miles or you can head inland to the cathedral city of Canterbury (13.5 miles).
Entering this picturesque hideaway, you will be greeted by a spacious hallway leading through to a light and inviting lounge with a Smart TV, ample seating, wooden beams and flooring, and a lovely wood burner in a brick surround. Exploring the ground floor further, the bright and spacious kitchen/diner is fully equipped with a sweet conservatory-style breakfast area and patio doors to the garden. Perfect for enjoying an evening meal together, the formal dining room has been stylishly decorated while retaining plenty of rustic charm. The ground floor also has a handy WC. Heading upstairs, you will have a choice of three restful bedrooms with ceiling beams, each full of character: there’s one cosy double and a pair of cheerful king-size rooms, one with its own en-suite bathroom. This floor is also served by a colourful family bathroom with a stylish shower over the chic roll-top bath.
Stepping outside, the charming garden is enclosed, with hedges running along the stone wall, and a sweet patio area providing a lovely spot for dining alfresco. A step leads up to the lawn which runs along to a handy summer house. Unrestricted roadside parking is available overnight and on Sundays; charges apply at the nearby carpark.
