About this property
Villa Monteu - Eight Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 18
If you are searching for your dream holiday home in an authentic, unspoilt part of Italy, look no further than Villa Monteu. This stylish villa can sleep up to 18 guests, so it is the ideal choice for those planning a trip with a large group of friends or extended family. On your holiday in Piedmont’s countryside, you can unwind and de-stress in the leafy surroundings and yet you can easily reach a wide range of villages and towns for days of shopping or dining out.
This eight-bedroom home has plenty of room for a big party, and with open-plan living areas and spacious bedrooms, everyone can enjoy a little privacy when they wish to. The house is set over three floors of a beautiful building comprising the traditional home and a sleek glass and steel extension. The villa was extensively renovated to the highest standard in 2020 and is now the perfect blend of old and new, with contemporary furnishings combined with antiques and a neutral colour palette.
On the ground floor, you will enter a vast dining area with an adjacent kitchen. This room has access to the garden and a well-equipped kitchen with all the appliances you need to prepare drinks, meals and snacks. On this floor, you will find three of the home’s bedrooms; two bedrooms can be set up as double or twin rooms and a room with bunk beds. All these bedrooms boast an en-suite bathroom, while one is set up to be disability-friendly.
On the first floor are two more flexible bedrooms with balconies and en-suite bathrooms. There is also a large living space with comfy sofas and a TV, and there is even a grand piano available. Adjacent to the main living room is a smaller sitting room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden.
The remaining bedrooms are located on the second floor; there is one bedroom here with an en-suite bathroom and two bedrooms with access to a private bathroom.
Enveloping the house, there is a wonderful, oasis-like garden with lawns, florals and trees dotted around the 4000m2 of grounds. The kids will be thrilled to find a children’s play area, table football and a ping pong table in the garden, and an inviting private pool.

Location:
Piedmont is a truly beautiful region in the North of Italy which is a must-visit location for nature lovers and foodies alike. With stunning countryside, historic towns and a highly-regarded wine region on your doorstep, Villa Monteu is perfectly set for getting to know this unspoilt area.
The villa sits within a patchwork of fields and vineyards, close to a small village called Monteu Roero. Just minutes from the home, guests can access country lanes and hiking routes or take picnics with the scenic landscape. If you want to explore further, you can book bike tours, truffle hunting walks or even hot air balloon rides through the home owners. Horse riding, tennis and golf are also available within 20km of the villa, meaning lovers of the outdoors and sporting pursuits will be kept busy. As this area is known for its wine-making, you will also find vineyards and wineries dotted around the nearby hills. One fantastic wine estate you could visit is Battaglio which is 12km away, in the heart of Roero, famous for its wines and truffles. At the vineyard, you can sample the amazing wines and take a tour of the cellars and the grounds, which include the ruins of a medieval castle.
The local village offers a few lovely restaurants and bars, which are handy to have so close. When you need a more extensive range of amenities and eateries, you can visit plenty more villages, towns and lively cities within driving distance of the home.
The town of Alba is just 18km away and is a town which is known as the gourmet capital of Piedmont due in part to the delightful white truffles which are found in this area. Make sure you are hungry when you get to Alba, as the town has some spectacular cafes and restaurants serving truffles, rabbit, polenta and local wines, amongst many other things. Aside from gastronomy, there is lots more to see and do in Alba. Stroll around the historic streets and squares to find Roman gates, Medieval towers, ancient churches and the imposing Duomo di Alba cathedral.
From your base at Villa Monteu, you can also drive to the splendid wine city of Asti, which is 32km away or the Piedmontese capital of Turin, which is 48km away by car and is a city packed with museums and galleries.
