About this property
4 bed townhouse in the centre of Dartmouth with views of the River Dart.
Highview House is a beautiful old Grade 2 listed Town House dating back to 1792. It sits one road from the waterfront and enjoys spectacular views of the River Dart and out to sea.
The house channels the laid back luxury of a boutique hotel in the intimate setting of a private holiday let.
The house is a four-storey Town House in a street of similar elegant properties close to the centre of Town. In total there are three double bedrooms one with a king size bed and two with super king size.
There are two large bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which has a spacious en suite bathroom with walk-in shower and dressing room.
On the first floor there is a very large bedroom with view to the harbour as well as a bathroom with bath and over bath shower.
On the second floor is the living room/kitchen consisting of fully fitted kitchen, refectory dining table and seating area with two 2-seater sofas and 2 armchairs. There are also benches around the refectory table in this room and 3 bar stools around the island. This room has two large windows affording a fine view of the river towards the sea. There is also w/c on this floor.
PLEASE NOTE - this is the only living room space in the house and it will be a tight squeeze for 8 adults, if you plan on eating out most nights it shouldn't be a problem but please be aware there is comfy sofa seating for up to 6 adults.
On the top floor is the attic room with the best view of all. A large window offers spectacular views across the River Dart and out to sea. This room has low ceilings and a steep stairs to access it, it currently has 2 single beds and is best suited to children.
From 1st October to 30th April, parking is free throughout Dartmouth and you can park quite easily in most roads including ours (Newcomen Road). However, during peak months (1st May
to 31st September) parking is at a premium.
There are free parking spaces up and down our road (Newcomen Road) for one or two hours (depending on which end you park at). Upon arrival, we recommend using one of them if possible so that you can easily unload your luggage and get settled. After this, most guests use the park and ride located just outside of Dartmouth town centre. You should see the sign for it as you drive in to town, it's by the roundabout where Sainsbury's is. The buses run frequently and it's by far the easiest way to leave your car with minimal hassle. From the bus drop off point it is about a 5 minute walk through town to our house.
