Location: The area was great. Coffee at Clever Cup; highly recommend. Craft cart for the kids, they had a Lularoe sale going on out front. (wife happy). Organic grocery store and a restaurant a 2min walk. The beach is close, but not walkable, and traffic picks up fast. The hotel across the street has a pool bar, and it was perfect to sit and have a drink while the kids were asleep 100ft away. Shopping, if so inclined, is right across the road.
House: A big motivator for us to rent this place was to experience a tiny house. Overall, it worked great. Two adults, a baby, and a child. We used the yellow "porch" area for the pack-and-play, and that worked quite well, as it is out of the flow of the rest of the house. My 4yo loved the ladder to her bed. Copious receptacles everywhere made charging phones, etc, a breeze. Props on the Roku TV.. easy to stream whatever we wanted. Lighting was a big issue.. perhaps replace some of the switches with dimmers, because at night, the only light we can turn on and not blind ourselves or wake up a kid was the bathroom light. A curtain would be nice so the lofts can have some semblance of privacy. If I were building this, I'd have some shelves or something to serve as storage and privacy screen. The bathroom sink doesn't have cold water. I reported it; not fixed by the time we left, but not a big deal to brush teeth with warm water. There are some design issues, here, that don't ruin this as a rental at all, but as part of the tiny house experience, were noticeable. The roof slant direction means that rain water pours right over the doorway, and that the lowest part of the ceiling is right where your head is when going up the steps/ladder to the lofts. The AC unit in this house is in the larger loft, meaning that side is going to be cold and the other hot. I'm told the other tiny houses on the way are different, though. The steps have annoying trim around them that is uncomfortable under foot when going up, and a trip hazard when going down. One was popped off already when we arrived, but was quickly fixed by on-site staff.
Staff: Very friendly and talkative on-site property manager made sure I was happy, and took care of a safety issue I pointed out right away.
Cost: The rate was very reasonable for Spring Break. The cleaning fee is, to me, twice what it should be for a place this small.
Bottom Line: Would rent again; hope for some minor changes as listed above. Thanks for a great time.
