About this property
Moulin Fouché | The Pigeon Tower | Cozy gite with large terrace near a nice lake
Welcome to Moulin Fouché, a beautiful holiday location directly on the lake l'Etang Fouché in the town of Arnay-le-Duc. This is located on the south side of the department Côte d'Or in the region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Our gite 'The Pigeon Tower' is divided as follows:
MAIN ACCOMMODATION
Private entrance, kitchen, table with four (or five/six) chairs, electric heater, bathroom, bedroom 1 with one double bed, wardrobes and a safe.
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, fridge, kettle and coffee makers (filter and Senseo).
The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink with cupboard.
There is sufficient bed, bath and kitchen linen available.
The walls of the kitchen in the main residence are covered with beautiful nature posters.
Wi-Fi is available in every room.
SECONDARY ACCOMMODATION
Separate entrance, cozy sitting area on the ground floor, television with DVD player, electric heater, stairs to the first floor, four stacked beds in the pigeon tower (three for sleeping and one for luggage).
The pigeon tower has a separate entrance. From the sitting area there is a staircase to the sleeping area with four stacked beds.
If you let your children sleep in the pigeon tower, they can use the bathroom in the adjacent main accommodation, where you will probably sleep yourself. That is a fun, but sometimes also exciting adventure. That is why we advise not to choose gite ‘The Pigeon Tower’ if one or more of your children are younger than six years old. But of course you can judge that best yourself!
TERRACES AND GARDEN
In front of the main accommodation is your partially covered private terrace, with a large table, garden chairs with cushions and of course a barbecue.
From your terrace you look out onto the beautiful garden. You can enjoy the peace and quiet, each other and the good life there.
And if you walk up the stairs next to the cottage, you are right on the lake, where you can take a lovely refreshing dip.
The terraces and the adjacent garden are sheltered, but not fenced. There is a small stream at the front of the lawn.
LOCATION
The holiday apartments of Moulin Fouché are located in a neighbourhood with no through traffic. Because the gites are located at the bottom of the dike, you only hear some noises from walkers and swimmers. On the terraces and in our garden you are in the middle of the green and it is nice to stay. If you walk up the path, you are right on the picturesque lake l'Etang Fouché. You can walk there, lie on the beach, swim, pedal boat, paddle board and fish. Despite the fact that your gite is located on the edge of Arnay-le-Duc, all the facilities of the town are within walking distance. The bakery and supermarket are even within walking distance. In the centre you will find several good restaurants, nice cafes and cozy terraces.
SURROUNDINGS
The department of Côte d’Or and the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté have a lot to offer! The landscape is rolling and forms a patchwork of grain fields, meadows, vineyards and forests. In the spring, the rapeseed blooms in the fields and in the summer you see sunflowers everywhere. There are many places worth seeing nearby. Dijon, Beaune, Semur-en-Auxois, Autun and Saulieu not only have nice shops and cozy terraces, but also interesting museums. One of the most beautiful villages in France - Châteauneuf-en-Auxois - is a stone's throw from Arnay-le-Duc. In Burgundy there are dozens of impressive castles to visit. You will also find interesting museums, beautiful abbeys, old churches and large cathedrals. The best wines in the world come from Burgundy and the Côte d’Or. After half an hour's drive you are in the middle of the wine region.
