About this property
Quaint, cosy Fisherman's cottage. Close to the harbour and local amenities.
Welcome to our holiday home, situated in the heart of Brixham. We purchased our cottage in 2022 and worked throughout the summer to breath new life into our home. We have been visiting Brixham two to three times a year over 15 years now and we fell in love with the beautiful harbour surroundings, we decided to marry at The Berry Head Hotel in 2014. The house is a 200 year old grade II listed Fisherman's cottage located on the historic Temperance Steps. We are a few minutes walk from the working harbour and town. The harbour is vibrant with cafe's, bars and restaurants, for us we like the fact that it is a working harbour and the locals are super friendly! The three storey cottage sleeps up to 4 people, with a double bed on the 1st floor with en-suite. The 2nd floor bedroom includes two single beds which can be zipped to make a king sized bed. Ideal for two couples holidaying or a family of four. We have an open fire, full central heating, new fitted kitchen and bathroom, there is a lovely terrace to relax with glimpses of the harbour, why not enjoy local fresh fish and chips! Having children, we know how important gaming is! so we have an Xbox at the property with plenty of board games, selection of DVD's and there is also an Amazon Fire Stick and free high speed WiFi, password is located on a sign in the kitchen We are dog friendly, if your dog is like our Cockerpoo, who loves to swim, then bring them along! There are plenty of dog and coastal walks. Berry Head Nature reserve is a must which was once a fort and there is a lovely cafe within, the coastal path then carry's on to St Mary's Bay. Please note that there is no parking at the property but spaces are available at the top of the steps. Public transport is very good, you can jump on the number 12 bus which takes you along the coast passing beaches and coves to Torquay. A ferry is also available to Torquay and Dartmouth, note these are seasonable services We hope you enjoy your Brixham stay as we do!

About the host
Hosted by Claire Timmins

We are originally from Stafford and brought our cottage 3 years ago as a holiday home. We fell in love with Brixham over 15 years ago so having a holiday home made sense.
Once we brought the cottage and spent more time here we decided we wanted to relocate, so that's what we did!
We now offer our lovely cottage out to holiday makers so they can enjoy a part of Brixham life too!

Why they chose this property
We love Brixham's beautiful coves. The fishing heritage, which is still active today and the tasty fresh fish that they bring back.
Brixham has its own Museum, which is full of fascinating facts and a must visit. The bars and restaurants serve delicious meals and the staff are super friendly.
Berry Head nature reserve has the most breath taking views and you can spot dolphins from there.
Seals are often present in the bay along with other wildlife and fish.
The locals are super friendly and we enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
