About this property

Hedd Mor - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 5

Imagine waking up to the sound of crashing waves and the fresh sea air. This charming retreat in New Quay offers just that, with stunning sea views and a prime location just steps from the Wales Coast Path. Whether you're a family seeking adventure, a couple looking for a romantic escape, or a group of friends wanting to reconnect, this cosy cottage is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Welsh coast. The property is close to the town’s welcoming cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. The Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is only 7.5 miles away, while Cardigan and Aberystwyth are both within 24 miles, meaning you have plenty of options when it comes to discovering the region’s vibrant towns. Back in New Quay, golden sands and a sheltered harbour invite holidays whatever time of year, and you can plan scenic hikes along the Wales Coast Path which passes just metres from the front door and leads to Llangrannog (7.5 miles) in one direction, and Aberaeron in the other. Enjoy meals out overlooking the harbour, and if you feel inspired, book a boat trip out into Cardigan Bay where you might even spot some dolphins during your stay.
Hedd Mor which means ‘Sea Peace’ is a traditional Welsh cottage overlooking the harbour in New Quay. The property has been a much-loved holiday home for many years and is full of light and calm.  It was built by the owner’s great great grandfather in 1860 whose family live locally and can be with you in five minutes if needed.
We encourage you to come and experience the views and the calm for yourself. Step into the inviting hallway and be greeted by the warm and welcoming lounge/diner with a classic and timeless feel. Gather around the cosy wood burner on chilly evenings, enjoying the crackling fire and the breathtaking sea views. The spacious seating area is perfect for relaxing with a good book, watching a movie on the TV, or simply enjoying each other's company. A dining table and chairs provide a comfortable space for enjoying delicious meals together, whether it's a home-cooked feast or a takeaway from one of the local restaurants. Walk through to the kitchen where you will find amenities you need to cook up a memorable holiday feast. A handy utility room and a shower room with WC complete the ground floor. When it’s time to call it a night, let the wood burner die out and head upstairs where three peaceful bedrooms await, these include one double, one twin and a single. Upstairs there’s also a well-appointed family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and a WC.
Step outside and discover a delightful private garden, perfect for enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. Narrow stone steps lead up to a lawn and gravelled area with outside seating, ideal for relaxing with a good book or enjoying a barbecue with friends and family. The garden is fully enclosed, providing a safe and secure space for your furry friend to stretch their legs and play.
