Located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, this sympathetically restored former farm out-building offers the ultimate family-friendly retreat for those craving an escape to the countryside. Situated in the sleepy rural hamlet of Llandetty, which enjoys wonderful scenery across the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and access to plenty of picturesque tracks and trails, perfect for keen walkers and cyclists. Nature lovers can stroll the 6-mile track around the largest still water reservoir in the central Brecon Beacons, the Talybont Reservoir (5.5 miles), whilst those who love local heritage can peruse the delightful independent cafes and shops of Talybont-on-Usk, 2 miles away. Discover South Wales’s mining heritage at the Big Pit National Coal Museum (16 miles) or Blaenavon Ironworks (15.5 miles).
Through the characterful arched ‘cart door’ style French doors, you’ll find a haven of rustic charm and homely warmth in the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The reclaimed parquet floor, roaring wood burner and gorgeous ceiling beams set a wonderfully peaceful ambience that beckons tired travellers to unwind and dine with loved ones long into the evening, the bright, bold hues perfectly compliment the colours of your stunning surroundings. There are two bedrooms on offer, one en-suite super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (can be made up as a twin on request at time of booking) on the ground floor, as well as another sumptuous en-suite super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (can be made up as a twin on request at time of booking) on the gallery level upstairs – which boasts a high vaulted ceiling and delightful views across the courtyard and canal beyond.
Within the shared farm courtyard, enjoy your morning coffee at sunrise or a glass of something chilled at sunset from the comfort of your own private patio area. Let off some steam before bedtime in the shared games room, or explore the surrounding fields, which offer direct access to the canal towpath. You’ll also find a shared laundry room and private parking for two cars is available.
