About this property
Host & Stay | Westbury Cottage
Summary:
Westbury Cottage is a charming stone-built retreat nestled on the hillside in the picturesque village of Bonsall, in the stunning Peak District National Park. This beautifully renovated cottage boasts three bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to five guests and features a beautiful well-kept garden with stunning views from every angle.
With its fantastic location, cosy atmosphere, and easy access to some of the Peak District’s best walking and cycling trails, Westbury Cottage is the perfect countryside getaway for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area. Whether you’re seeking adventure or tranquillity, this delightful cottage provides the perfect base for your stay.
The Space:
Inside, the cottage exudes warmth and comfort, with a spacious living room featuring a coal-effect gas fire, a dining table for six, and plush sofas and armchairs. The adjoining kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern amenities you’ll need for your stay, alongside a dining nook that also seats four. Adding to the cottage’s charm are two additional seating areas: one in the entrance hall and another located off the kitchen, both of which provide lovely spots to sit and enjoy the beautiful views.
The master bedroom features a luxurious super king bed that can be converted into two singles upon request, while the second bedroom offers a king-sized bed, and the third is a cosy single room, ideal for solo travellers. However, due to the cottage’s unique layout and hillside location, it is not well suited for young children or those with mobility issues.
The cottage has two bathrooms for guests’ convenience, one upstairs with a luxurious rain shower with a hand rail for those who may struggle and a standard toilet room downstairs, making it ideal for larger groups. Parking is available with space for two vehicles, as well as additional on-street parking a little further up the lane.
The beautiful garden is a true highlight of Westbury Cottage. The private outdoor space offers breathtaking views across the valley toward Bonsall valley, framed by beautiful stone wall features and furnished with outdoor seating. Whether you’re enjoying morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, the garden provides a serene escape. The master bedroom even has French doors that open out onto a private patio area, complete with a table and chairs, making it a perfect spot to relax in the fresh air.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the whole property for the duration of their stay.
Keys are accessed via a key safe and your check in details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Please note we welcome two well behaved dogs at Westbury Cottage.
It’s important to note that the cottage is situated on a steep, narrow hill with steps both inside and outside, so it may not be suitable for guests with mobility concerns.
