About a holiday in Wadebridge...
Nestled in the heart of Cornwall, Wadebridge is a charming market town that offers visitors a delightful blend of natural beauty, rich history, and vibrant community spirit. Situated on the picturesque River Camel, this town serves as an ideal base for exploring the stunning landscapes and attractions of North Cornwall. Just five miles upstream from the well-known fishing village of Padstow, Wadebridge is probably best known for its Camel Trail; linking this town to Rock and Padstow, with 18 miles of flat cycle track which runs parallel to the River Camel.
For golfers, nearby St Enodoc has a golf course described as “quixotic and rather hilly” overlooking the glorious coastline and natural terrain, which is ranked 87th in the world and 11th in England.
There is also lots of fun to be had at the go kart circuit at nearby St Eval and The Camel Creek Adventure Park, which has plenty of rides to keep everyone happy.
It isn’t a Cornish holiday without a day out on the beach and this area has lots to choose from within a short drive from Wadebridge. Polzeath is a gently shelving beach which is great for surfing. Try Camel Ski School for water skiing, wakesurfing, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, SUP/kayaking and inflatable rides on the river. Sailing and powerboating are other options for thrill-seekers, try Camel Sailing.
A short drive from Wadebridge is the challenging Retallack Aqua Park with wakeboarding and the flow rider where you can surf the perfect wave whatever the weather.
There are many lovely beaches to explore including Daymer Bay, Hawker’s Cove Beach, Harlyn Bay and Butterhole Beach. Children will enjoy building sandcastles in the fine soft sand of the area and bigger kids and adults will have fun bodyboarding and surfing.
