About this property
Dinky Cottage - One Bedroom House, Sleeps 2
Enjoy a romantic getaway in this adorable cottage in the unspoilt village of Blakeney, on the North Norfolk Coast. The cottage is thought to be one of England’s smallest houses, and offers a cosy retreat for couples and solo travellers. From the cottage, take a day trip to one of Norfolk’s finest beaches – Brancaster (18 miles) – or visit the popular seaside resort of Cromer (14 miles). You’ll also be just 5 miles from the attractive market town of Holt.
The quirky holiday home enjoys a peaceful location down a narrow lane, right in the heart of the village. Inside, you’ll find a bijou bolthole with whitewashed walls, exposed woodwork, and homely touches throughout. The ground floor is open plan and has been cleverly configured to provide a cosy lounge area with a Smart TV, a stylish kitchenette, and a sweet dining table for sharing romantic dinners. A separate shower room completes this level. A steep, open-tread staircase leads to the king-size bedroom, set under a low, sloping roof and a skylight that’s perfectly placed for stargazing from the bed. Outside, soak up the sunshine in the small, enclosed courtyard during a coffee break or al fresco meal.
Step back in time on a walk around the village, admiring the pretty flint cottages and historic buildings. Pop into the art galleries and gift shops to pick up a souvenir from your holiday, before sampling the local seafood in one of the inviting pubs or restaurants. From the quay, boat trips run to Blakeney Point where you can marvel at the largest seal colony in England. As expected, the walking and wildlife spotting opportunities in the area are endless, whether you head to the nature reserve, stride out across the saltmarshes, or embark on a hike along the Norfolk Coast Path.
