Beautiful Kihei

We loved our stay at Kamaole Sands. The condo was beautiful, clean and newly remodeled. The courtyard was and ocean view provided the perfect views. We will be back.

We loved all of Maui. We explored all coasts and 10+ beaches. There is better snorkeling other places but our kids just wanted to come back to this beach and play on the perfectly sized waves and sandy bottom of this KamIII beach that was walking distance from our door. The pool/hot tube was a great way to finish each night after the beach. Perfect trip, perfect place. Will repeat this 100%

This place was adequate for our purposes. The lanai is nice and large, use of beach chairs is a plus, uncomfortable bed and worn interior (minus the kitchen) were negatives. I’d liken it to a holiday inn, not great, not bad, purely functional.

Lovely Stay at Kamaole Sands

We’ve stayed at Kamaole Sandals numerous times. Pros of this condo: location, well stocked kitchen, sand toys, beach chairs, lovely lanai, close to pool. Cons: no AC in bedroom, no dresser in bedroom, sofa bed has bar in your back, very close to BBQ area. We loved the condo overall and would stay there again. It is very well updated and has cute decor. We were at this property during the wildfires that devastated Maui. Even with the fans on, the bedroom would get hot at night, so we would have to open the windows; however, we couldn’t open the windows after the wildfires since we didn’t want to breathe in the smoke. A portable AC unit in the bedroom would have been very welcome and appreciated.

Highly recommended

This is a very well maintained condo, and we were extremely comfortable during our recent two week stay. The large lanai was where we had most of our meals; it is partially shaded during much of the day but you could always find a sunny spot on it if you wanted. The kitchen was well equipped with lots of cooking utensils and appliances. We also liked the fact that we could open the lanai door and the front door and you then got a lovely breeze through the unit which meant we never had to turn on the a/c. The grounds are very well kept, the BBQ area was clean with good quality Weber BBQs, and the pool and hot tub area was also very well maintained. The days that we felt like going to the beach Kamaole III was a 5 minute walk from the unit. We really enjoyed our stay here and the only reason we would not re-book it for next year is if we need a bigger unit for the rest of the family that wants to come with us!

Excellent Vacation Home Away from Home

I very much enjoyed my stay in Maui and loved my VRBO. It was clean, quiet and I had most everything I required to experience a relaxing getaway. Mornings and evenings on the lanai could not be beat! I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning to it again.

We have stayed at several units at Kam Sands over the years and this was the best one. Clean, modern, large covered lanai, A/C works great. No complaints whatsoever, highly recommended. We would gladly stay again.

Great experience

This condo was in a great location directly across from the beach. The unit and grounds were well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to comeback and relax after a day at the beach. It also has a very nice pool, children's pool, and hot tub in the grounds.

Nice location. Condo wasn't as nice as I expected.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The kitchen, living room and balcony along with the view were nice. The bed was very uncomfortable. Although the bathroom vanities were updated the rest of the bathrooms weren't. The extra bathroom had stained toilet seat, stained tile and smelled gross. In both bathrooms there was at least an inch of dust in exhaust fans. For what I paid I could have stayed at a top notch condo on the beach in Kaanapali. Also at the end of the stay the cleaning person walked in on us one hour before we were due to leave.

great corner unit

this is a great corner unit in bldg 2 updated snd extremly clean plenty of supplies from laundry soap to paper towels and trash bags which is great huge lanai with plenty of sun or shade all day we will rent this unit again love the corner unit we can open the window and get plenty of light and day breeze and still have privacy

AMAZING! Beautiful refurb! Great Beach.

My wife and I stayed at Kamaole Sands for our 20th anniversary. Our hosts did an amazing job updating this already beautiful condo. First: the location. The condo is just steps away from one of the best beaches in Kihei. We loved just taking our chairs and a book down to the beach and relaxing. The TURTLES! Kam III has an abundance of turtles that come right up on the beach and graze on the seagrass. The snorkeling is really calm and wonderful. If you like to walk, there is a trail that will take you all along Kam 1, 2 and 3. The condo: Kam Sands is beautiful, and if that was the only part of our vacation, we would have been very happy. The pool area and deck are very clean and comfortable. Plenty of chairs and places for shade or sun. Bathrooms with showers are right there, as well as a snack bar. The grounds are beautiful, and very well maintained. You will see teams of people during the day working hard to make sure everything looks perfect! The condo is located nicely on the island to reach all of the Maui's best attractions within a short driving distance. It is also walking distance to some very nice restaurants. Favorites include the Café O Lei and Fred's Mexican Café. The Maui Brewing company is a must-see as well. The Room: Our hosts have worked very hard to make their condo as welcoming as possible. The king bedroom is very comfortable and I love having the bathroom right there. There is a bonus guest bathroom down the hall for extra convenience. The highlight of the place is the newly renovated kitchen. Gorgeous counter tops and cabinets. Everything you need is right there! All silverware, cups, plates, etc., even cookware and utensils. The appliances are all brand new and look amazing. We made our own breakfast and coffee everyday right in the room. The lanai out back was my favorite place to sit and read or have breakfast. Every room is comfortable. There is a washer and dryer for extra convenience. The air conditioner works wonderfully to cool off the main rooms, and the two ceiling fans help keep air moving on even the hottest days. This is a wonderful place to go on vacation with two or even a family of four. You will not be disappointed!

Lovely, relaxing, and exactly what we hoped for!

There is so much to say! The accommodations were beautiful, tropical, and just what we had hoped for. The newly remodeled kitchen had everything that we needed to cook a simple or elaborate meal. The new granite in the kitchen is so beautiful! Having two bathrooms for two people was more than we needed, but really nice to have. The bed was perfect, and I'm a very picky bed sleeper. We spent a lot of time on the lanai eating, reading, and...snoozing. The complex is peaceful, clean, manicured, and quiet with a very relaxed pool atmosphere (Mai Tai Wednesday was fun, don't skip it). The washer and dryer accessiblilty in the condo allowed us to pack light. Tina and Steve, owners, were very responsive, as was Viktoria and her staff, when Hurricane Lane headed our way toward the end of our trip. They helped us with questions we had and put our safety first with phone calls to guide us every step of the way for storm prep. We, luckily, left right before the storm arrived on 8/24, so timing was perfect. We felt like family. I can't say enough to thank everyone for an amazing 20th anniversary trip. I would stay here again if given the opportunity!

Great place to stay in Kihei!

Awesome location!

Loved the large Lanai this unit offered, King Bed very comfortable. Was so impressed with how quiet the entire complex became right at 10pm ! Could hear a pin drop! Location right across from Kam 3 which was very convenient to run down to capture the sunset. And just down the road from our Fav Beach Keawakapu. My only complaint would be the sofa bed mattress needs to be replaced. I had to go and purchase a foamie to put on top just to make it tolerable to sleep. Would def stay in this unit again, but only if the mattress on the sofa bed was replaced.
