This lovely first-floor bedroom in Tenuta Ricco is a wonderful retreat for a couple or small family looking to combine a relaxing holiday in the sun with exploring the gorgeous Salento peninsula. Guests can enjoy the pool (shared with 3 other apartments) and the extensive gardens.

The outside staircase opens into the elegant bedroom. This is furnished with a wrought-iron double bed and a sofa, which converts into a single bed. The room also has a mini-fridge, a small table for coffee or an aperitif and a flat-screen TV.

Guests will spend a lot of time outside in the stunning garden or relaxing by the 15m swimming pool. Each apartment is allocated 2 sunloungers and an umbrella. Children will enjoy the extensive lawns with plenty of room to run around. The gardens are dotted with lovely olive trees and make a welcome oasis.

Location
In the heart of Salento, Tenuta Ricco is ideally placed for guests to have easy access to everything this beautiful peninsula has to offer. Just 20 minutes from beautiful beaches, such as the Baia dei Turchi, or the port of Otranto. It is 25 minutes from the city of Lecce, famous for its wonderful Baroque architecture as well as its Roman ruins. It is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit. Not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping.

For self-catering, the local weekly markets across Salento are the best places to pick up fresh ingredients. Cursi market (5 minutes) takes place every Wednesday and Castrignano dei Greci (6 minutes) on Thursday morning. Try out the local restaurants serving delicious local cuisine for inspiration.

Golfers will enjoy the two courses near the town of Acaya (35 minutes) or for more exercise and a hike through the unspoiled Mediterranean countryside, there is the WWF nature reserve of Le Cesine (35 minutes).

The closest airport is at Brindisi - just 1 hour away by car.
