The Neighborhood:
The neighbourhood is full of lakes which were originally gravel pits. They have matured into a wonderful parkland and offer many activities.
South Cerney is a very old village with 2 pubs and a few small shops. It dates back to the 10th century. Cirencester offers excellent shopping, markets, and good cafes and restaurants, also it has probably the best small museum in England and a magnificent Church.
Within walking distance is the De Vere Hotel which has an attractive bar, restaurant and Spa.

Getting Around:
A car is desirable to make the most of the various Cotswold villages and places to visit. However, the 51 bus is a 10 minute walk which goes between Cheltenham and Swindon. The nearest train station is Kemble out of London Paddington and a taxi would need to be pre-booked (10 mins). There are 10 pubs, cafes, pubs within walking distance if all you want to do is come and relax.
