About this property
Bwthyn Gwennol - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
Offering a restful Welsh break, this endearing two-bedroom home boasts a beautiful stone exterior, perfectly complementing its picturesque surroundings. Pentre Bach is a delightful hamlet located along the Afon Cilieni river between Brecon and Llandovery in Powys. Just 150 metres from your doorstep, you’ll find a traditional pub, perfect for unwinding with a local ale. Adventure seekers and nature lovers will be thrilled that Brecon Beacons National Park starts just 2 miles south – your playground for spectacular hikes, cycling, climbing and more. A little further afield, Brecon (11.5 miles) is home to cultural gems like The Royal Welsh Regimental Museum, Brecon Cathedral and the scenic Brecon Canal Basin. The National Showcaves Centre for Wales (13.5 miles), with its impressive cave systems, is an unforgettable day out. History and art enthusiasts will also appreciate a visit to Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery (22.5 miles).
On arrival at this welcoming home, you’ll find yourself in the quaint porch where you can kick off muddy boots after countryside adventures. From here, enter the farmhouse-style kitchen which features attractive wooden units and a table for leisurely breakfasts. To the left, a handy utility room and a downstairs WC add to the home’s practicality. Continuing through, the gorgeous open-plan lounge awaits – this space has comfortable seating, a crackling wood burner housed within a stone fireplace, and a circular dining table for evening meals. The decor is homely and cosy, with traditional ceiling beams adding to its characterful charm. When it’s time to turn in for the night, head upstairs to discover two spacious double bedrooms, each with characterful slopped ceilings and skylight windows. The family bathroom, featuring a shower over the bath, completes the upstairs space.
Outside a gate offers access onto an enclosed patio with seating area and charcoal BBQ perfect for summer dining and leading to a secure and dog friendly lawn area and path to parking area for two cars.
