About the host
Hosted by John Donelan

I am an irish citizen but live in the UK. My wife's family come from Lettermackaward and went to the old school which is now a converted house just below. Patrick, for whom the cottage is named, died in 2023 at the age of 90. He was born in the cottage next door and spent his early life in Dooey. As a young man he was a locally famous Gaelic football player but emigrated to the UK for work in the 1950s. However, he visited his family every year and always missed his home. When he retired, he built this house for himself and his family to enjoy for generations. We can never thank him enough; we hope you get as much pleasure from it as we do.
Why they chose this property
Donegal in general and this area in particular are unique and beautiful. The scerenity of this place will seep into your bones. The people are kind and welcoming and there is so much to see. I find somewhere new every time I visit.
What makes this property unique
Partick's House is finished to a high standard whilst still keeping a homely feel. It is very secluded whilst being a short hop to beaches shopping and of course pubs! I have a full local guide in the house which I can email on request.
