Trá Mór in Gaelic, means big strand. Tramore has a beautiful 5 km sandy beach with plenty of sand dunes and cliff walks. The copper coast tour and greenway is nearby. The town itself is built on a hill that slopes down to the strand. The long, rolling waves in Tramore make it a good spot for nature lovers and water sports.
The beachfront promenade has a leisure park with outdoor mini golf and attractions. There’s also indoor entertainment on the promenade and traditional fish and chips.
Local food includes seaweed bread, ‘oaties’ and exceptional coffee from the Seagull Bakery. Toms or The Vee for a nice full Irish Breakfast. Mezze for Middle Eastern cuisine. Mollys for take away coffee on seafront. In the evening The Vic pub has an outdoor sheltered seating area for pints and great pub grub. The Beach House has fine dining and needs to be booked in advance.
