The ground floor features a cosy living room with a woodburner and smart TV, a double bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and a utility room. Upstairs, there are three more double bedrooms, two with ensuites, plus a family bathroom with a bath and a fourth shower wet room. Outside, enjoy the large wraparound garden and parking for three vehicles—ideal for a relaxing getaway.
The Space:
Maravel Cottage is a much loved family holiday home positioned halfway between Marazion and Praa Sands. Spacious and well-equipped, it caters to larger groups and families perfectly.
On the ground floor, you'll find a double bedroom and separate WC. So whilst you will need to go upstairs to use the main bathrooms, there is a sleeping option on the ground floor for those with mobility limitations. Next door is a cosy living room with wood burner and smart TV - perfect for movie nights in the colder months. There is also a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with all the mod cons including a coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher. Families can make use of children's dinnerware and a high chair. In addition, a separate utility with washing machine and dryer is available at your convenience.
Upstairs, find a further 3 bedrooms. One has a double bed and single with an ensuite bathroom and shower - perfect for kids. Those with younger ones can also make use of the travel cot and stair gates. There are another two double bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite bathroom, and the other makes use of the relaxing family bathroom with bath. If that wasn't enough, a 4th shower wet room ensures minimal bathroom queues!
Outside, there is a spacious wraparound garden which really comes to life in the spring and summer months. After long days at the beach, enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple on the lawn. Private parking on the drive for 3 vehicles ensures a hassle free stay.
We welcome a maximum of 2 dogs with an additional fee of £20/dog (see House Rules for details).

The Neighborhood:
Maravel Cottage is in a great location for enjoying all that south Cornwall has to offer. It's in the hamlet of Rosudgeon, which may be small but has decent local amenities. The Packet Inn pub and Coop Food for essentials are only 10 minutes walk away (a small part of this is along the main road). Praa Sands is only 5 minutes drive in one direction and Marazion in the other, but there are even closer, lesser-known beaches within walking distance. The stunning Perranuthnoe and Prussia Cove are about a 30-minute walk away. Keen walkers will enjoy traversing further round the south west coast path to Marazion, with the majestic St Michael's Mount in view the whole way!
Keep following the coastline around and you'll land at Penzance. This bustling town has a newly renovated promenade and famous Art Deco outdoor saltwater swimming pool. Find an array of independent shops, and you can pick up a ferry from the harbour for a day's wildlife trip (you even may see seals and dolphins!). At low tide, you can venture across the causeway to St Michael's Mount and spend the day exploring the isolated island with its historic castle and gardens. There are also ferries at high tide.
A bit further round and you'll find Newlyn. This lesser known village has made a name for itself with lots of fantastic eateries including the famous Mackerel Sky seafood tapas bar, Argoe restaurant, The Tolcarne Inn gastro pub, Lewis’ fish and chips and many more. The area also boasts an independent arthouse cinema, art galleries, Newlyn School of Art, Jelbert's homemade ice cream, pasty shop, cheese shop, greengrocery, butcher and, of course, the freshest seafood available.
Continue on round Mousehole, which is a lovely place to go for lunch and a wander along the harbour. The Old Coastguard pub serves delicious local food and a superb Sunday Lunch that's not to miss. The Rock Pool cafe is a must on sunny days, with its tucked-away sea-front location and extensive food and cocktail list.
This part of Cornwall is home to a stunning selection of beaches and coastal walks; Cape Cornwall and the wonderful Minnack Theatre are just a 30 minute drive, whilst Land’s End is also within close reach. We would highly recommend picking up the walk from Land’s End to Nanjizal Cove - where you can enjoy a peaceful dip in the sea and amazing cream teas. Nearby, Sennen Cove with its huge white sandy beach is the perfect spot for surfers and beachgoers alike!
And this is all before heading north, where you can be at the expansive sands of Gwithian/Godrevy in under 20 minutes. St Ives and everything the popular town has to offer is a similar distance.
Getting Around:
Given the remote nature of Cornwall, a car is recommended for getting the most out of your stay here. There is ample space for 3 cars to park on the driveway.
That said, the property is located 13 minutes from Penzance which has very good transport links. Trains run from London Paddington on a regular basis throughout the year. Taxis and car hire are both available in Penzance.
Interaction with Guests:
We will be available via message, email and phone during your stay. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
