This spacious converted mill sleeps 10, with an opulent master suite, super king bedrooms, and a stylish open-plan kitchen. Relax in two lounges, a games room, or the scenic garden with rolling hill views. Just a short drive from St Andrews and stunning coastal trails, it's the perfect spot for family getaways, golf trips, or a peaceful escape.
Moonzie Mill House is a charming holiday retreat set in the peaceful Fife countryside, close to the village of Balmullo. This spacious, thoughtfully converted mill (circa 1993) comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests, with space for 2 additional children, making it well-suited for families, friends, or small gatherings.
Originally a working mill powered by the nearby
Moonzie Burn, the property has a rich history, with parts of the original buildings dating back around 150 years. Access to the property is via a private unmade road.
The master bedroom is an absolute standout, featuring an Emperor bed, private dressing room, and ensuite bathroom - perfect for that touch of ultimate luxury.
Two additional Super King bedrooms provide plenty of space for guests to stretch out and unwind, while the fourth bedroom offers another Super King bed that easily converts into twin beds to suit your set up (please specify if you would like this split at time of booking). For two extra children, there’s also a cosy day bed and a folding z-bed. With three ensuite bathrooms, a spacious family bathroom, and two separate WCs, no one will have to wait in line!
The heart of the home is the large open-plan kitchen diner; a bright and sociable space with modern appliances and ample seating. Patio doors lead directly to the garden, where you can enjoy al fresco dining or simply soak in the beauty of the surrounding countryside.
Two comfortable lounge areas provide plenty of room to relax, whether you’re curling up with a good book or enjoying movie night with loved ones. For added entertainment, the games room offers a fun escape for kids and adults alike.
Moonzie Mill House is surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, offering panoramic views over the stunning Fife countryside. The garden is a haven for relaxation, with plenty of space for children to play whilst adults can unwind with a glass of wine - or two!
The house is perfectly situated for exploring the best that Fife has to offer. St Andrews, known as the ‘Home of Golf’, is a short drive away. The historic town boasts the world-famous Old Course, along with stunning beaches and charming cobblestone streets filled with boutique shops and eateries.
Tentsmuir Forest is a natural gem that offers walking and cycling trails, wildlife spotting opportunities, and a pristine beach for picnics and paddling.
For history enthusiasts, a visit to Falkland Palace offers a step back in time, where you can explore this beautifully preserved Renaissance palace set amidst stunning, tranquil gardens. Make sure to pop round to Pillars of Hercules for a cuppa during your visit. This organic farm and coffee house is great for lunch as well as picking up local supplies if you're planning on cooking up a storm in that incredible kitchen you have available to you.
The Fife Coastal Path spans for an impressive 116 miles, offering countless opportunities to explore its scenic trails. Why not discover even a small section of this stunning coastline, with breathtaking views and quaint fishing villages along the way.
For food lovers, the area is bursting with farm shops, artisan bakeries, and cosy pubs serving fresh, locally sourced produce. Adventure seekers can enjoy water sports, horse riding, and even hot air ballooning to fully appreciate the stunning scenery.
