About this property

The Old Post Office - Brecon

Surrounded by breath-taking scenery that’s criss-crossed by walking and cycling routes, this spacious and characterful property is the ideal retreat for friends or families and welcomes up to three canine companions too. It’s located in the hamlet of Pentre Bach, between Brecon (12 miles) and Llandovery (14.5 miles). In both towns, you’ll find elegant Georgian architecture and a variety of independent shops and places to eat. For adventure lovers, Fforest Fawr Geopark is just 12.5 miles away, and Llangorse Multi Activity Centre is 19 miles away. White-water canoeing is on offer within 3 miles, as well as opportunities for wild brown trout, salmon and sea trout fishing. For a memorable day out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales is 13.5 miles away, while Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery is 22.5 miles away.
Rugged original features such as exposed stone walls and dark beams give this impressive property enormous character. Enter through the side door straight into the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner. This welcoming room has a dining table for six, an array of wooden cupboards and plenty of space for preparing hearty meals. It’s equipped with everything the cook will need, including a microwave and a dishwasher. From here, stroll into the handsome lounge, where you can snuggle in the soft seating, light the wood burner, pull a book from the shelves or stream a movie on the Smart TV. Alternatively, relax in the snug, another comfortable room which also boasts a Smart TV and has an ornamental fireplace. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom with a bath and separate shower, as well as a separate WC. Head up the stairs to find the three bedrooms, including a spacious king-size room with built-in wardrobes, a twin, and a bunk bedroom. On this level, there’s also a family shower room.
The large garden, surrounded by a low stone wall, includes a raised lawn and flower beds, and is adjacent to a pretty stream (please supervise children and animals). Light the coal BBQ and grill a tasty lunch or supper as you sit in the sunshine on the terrace and listen to the water burbling. At the front of the property, there is a lawned area and parking for three cars.
