Welcome to the extraordinary retreat “M House”, an architectural gem in a serene countryside setting with breathtaking views, and immerse yourself in the tranquil sounds of nature, where only the melodies of birds fill the air!
The house features expansive windows that frame the lush green landscape, allowing you to fully embrace the serenity of this unique location.
M House offers total privacy, and yet is just a few minutes away from the Ericeira beaches!
Located in a rural landscape characterized by traditional and natural elements typical of the region, with excellent sun exposure, the property also features a natural watercourse that cross the entire area of the house! The mountain in the background creates a picturesque setting of great scenic beauty and cultural value, where rural life and traditions remain vibrant.
The irrigation tank and the walnut tree were chosen by architects José Mateus and Nuno Mateus from ARX Portugal as the starting point for the house project, which won the 2008 Mafra Municipal Prize in the New Buildings category. The project developed an intimate relationship with the ground plane, turning the house into the terrain over which one walks! Throughout the body of the house, courtyards are "carved out," creating intimate and peaceful spaces. The top of the master bedroom is narrow and high, "observing" the valley to the east, while the wide and flat top contains the living room, "overlooking" the valley to the south.
The bedrooms area is served by an austere corridor, with ends characterized by opposing realities: to the north, it opens into a sunken patio, contained and intimate; at the opposite end, it opens to a landscape of great depth, with the walnut tree in the foreground and the mountain in the distance.
The W. Hoffmann piano in the house is a testament to the excellence of European piano building, delivering a unique and expressive sound that is both dynamic and richly textured.

1) The Municipal Tourism Tax has a unit value of €2.30 in high season and €1.20 in low season.
High Season: May 1st to October 31st
Low Season: November 1st to April 30th
Rate applied per night and per guest from 13 years of age, up to a limit of 7 nights.
2) To keep the garden well cared for, an automatic irrigation system operates between midnight and 6 am, ensuring that the plants receive regular watering. Additionally, a gardener visits periodically to perform maintenance tasks, such as pruning, weeding, and checking the health of the plants. This combination of automated irrigation and manual care helps maintain a healthy and beautiful garden.
It’s not allowed to exceed the maximum capacity number of guest;
The cleaning of the house will be carried out before the check-in, and on the check-out. Nonetheless, we ask you to respect the basic hygiene rules, for instance do not leave dirty dishes to wash or the house in disarray. Please take out the rubbish, do not leave it outside the door of the house. Use the ecological rubbish bins in the street that are provided for this purpose;
All home furniture and décor as to be in the same places, where they were on the arrival date.
