About this property
Stable Cottage - a super cottage sleeping 2 guests
Professional photography to follow.
Stable Cottage is a stylish country retreat, decorated with luxurious Kit Kemp fabrics creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere throughout. The spacious, light filled sitting and dining room enjoys french doors offering views across the estate and leads through to the inner hallway, which doubles as a cosy reading nook. The kitchen is well-equipped for even the keenest of chefs with high-end appliances including a bean-to-cup coffee machine; a Vitamix blender; Robert Welch cutlery and kitchen knives; and Burleigh china. Upstairs, guests have a choice of two beautifully appointed bedrooms; one with a super-king size bed and the other a king-size, made up with 1000 thread count linens and thoughtful extra touches such as a Dyson hairdryer and straighteners. The bathroom has a bath with full-height shower over.
The accommodation extends outside, where guests can enjoy the stunning logia, fully furnished with outdoor sofas, dining table, patio-style heaters and an outdoor kitchen complete with a fridge and a wood-fired pizza oven, ideal for cosy evenings any time of year and boasting views across the owner's garden to the lake and the South Downs. In addition, there is a secluded private garden with access to the estate's woodland walks. The outdoor swimming pool is available exclusively for Stable Cottage guests all year round (for the brave), and heated May through to September (for the not so brave!) and provides sun loungers and parasols along with a small poolside table and chairs. A separate pool room attached to the cottage offers a power shower for added convenience when using the pool. In addition, guests can also enjoy unlimited use of the adjoining tennis court.
For nature lovers, Stable Cottage presents an exceptional opportunity to immerse guests in the unique biodiversity of the South Downs National Park. Situated within grounds that provide a sanctuary for the very rare English field cricket, Stable Cottage is also home to the pipistrelle bat, one of the UK's most common yet delightful bat species, often seen flitting through the twilight skies in pursuit of insects. Furthermore, the land around the cottage provides a haven for a variety of larger mammals, including badgers, often spotted during dusk; and both roe and fallow deer, who grace the landscape with their elegant presence and help themselves to the roses! Foxes are also frequent visitors. Birdwatchers will find themselves particularly rewarded here with the skies and trees alive with the calls and sights of barn owls and tawny owls, mysterious and majestic in their nightly pursuits. During the twilight hours, the enigmatic nightjars can be heard with their distinctive calls; and throughout the day, buzzards soar high above, surveying the rolling hills. From the comfort of the terrace or while relaxing in the outdoor kitchen loggia, guests can indulge in wildlife spotting, making every moment at Stable Cottage a constant encounter with the beauty and intrigue of the South Downs National Park.
On the doorstep, there is direct access to the bridle path and wonderful woodland walks, perfect for exploring the breath-taking surrounding countryside.
