Off the Beaten Path

The Hidden Oasis is just that. It’s a cool, funky little village hidden away. The casita was clean and was a great space to relax! It is a bit far from Willcox and the wineries, so plan on driving a little while.

Visiting family

Had a great time at Hidden Oasis. Had dinner with Max and Chad the first night. They were extremely welcoming and pleasant conversationalists. The Chicken Parm may have been the best I’ve ever had. We also had breakfast on one day, fresh eggs were awesome.

Lovely & Beautiful

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hidden Oasis! The owners were kind and the property was lovely. We enjoyed doing yoga and reading in the yoga/chapel/library and watching the chickens scratch around in their yard. Thank you!

Beyond charming

I'll begin with Max(ine) & Chad, who were so warm and gracious during our stay. Casita #4 was absolutely adorable, bright and airy and stocked with everything we needed. The beds, including the sofa bed, were very comfortable. The grounds are full of surprises and fun to explore. You will love your stay here.

Excellent Stay! I'll be back!

This is a clean, comfortable, colorful, quiet, funky place and I absolutely loved it! The grounds were immaculate and so was the casita I stayed in. Maxine and Chad were very welcoming and helpful but not intrusive at all. It was the perfect get away - plenty of wide open space to ride my bike. The Cochise Stronghold, which is not far away, was a beautiful place to hike and explore. The only reason I gave 4 stars on the location instead of 5 was because there are train tracks very close to the property but they are in a "no horn" zone so it wasn't much of a disturbance.

Just Exactly What We Were Looking For!!

In setting up our vacation to Arizona we wanted first of all to be in a place removed from all the hustle and bustle of the big city. We wanted peace and quiet but to still be within driving distance of new and different things to see. The Hidden Oasis met every one of our needs. Peace and quiet but still within easy driving distance to Benson, Willcox and Tucson. I10 took us just about everywhere we wanted to go. Plus our hosts, Maxine and Chad, were very gracious and accommodating. I don't think we ever found either one of them in a bad mood! Great people! great place! We were not real anxious to leave.

Love this place! Unique and fun!

Maxine and her husband definitely have the gift of hospitality. My husband and I felt like they were welcoming long lost friends when we arrived. The casita (the 2 bedroom) was great - it was decorated with old knickknacks and cool pictures. Having a full kitchen was very nice too. The location was perfect for sight seeing in Tombstone, Bisbee and Douglas. If you are interested in ghost towns, there are several near Tombstone that don't require 4-wheel drive. The weather was perfect - much cooler than Phoenix. They have 3 casitas so this would be a perfect place for a multi family vacation. This was a million times better than a hotel. We will definitely stay here again.

It was good for what we paid.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while exploring southeastern Arizona. When Maxine found out I was pregnant, she was nice enough to upgrade us to the two bedroom casita at no extra cost. The main reason we stayed here was that it had a kitchen so we could cook our own meals. While the size of the kitchen and appliances available were just what we needed, the kitchen lacked utensils for us to cook with. There was one pot and one frying pan, however no spatula or anything besides eating utensils to cook with. We used a fork to cook our eggs and potatoes! The description of the property mentions it is by active train tracks. In my mind that meant a train went by every so often. Sadly this wasn't the case. Since it was right by an actual crossing all the trains blew their signal each time they went by. Trains seemed to run all day and all night, sometimes with only 15-30 minutes between passings. Not much they can do about that but its worth a mention! As I mentioned, we stayed in the 2 bedroom casita which could easily sleep 4 people with the two beds there, however, I was thankful it was just my husband and I since the bathroom lacked a door. Well, it had a sliding/closet type door but it didn't give much privacy. To get to the bathroom you had to go through the closet of the bigger bedroom and on the wall right across from the toilet was a heater with vents and you could see right into the bedroom, or the bedroom to the bathroom. The property itself is adorable, Maxine was very helpful answering questions before arriving, and the caretaker on the property was very nice as well. It was in a great location for what we needed for our trip. A fix of the bathroom situation and some cooking utensils in the kitchen would have helped our review. Not much can be done about the trains sadly!

Great location! An easy drive to the Dragoon and Chiricahua mountains.

The accommodations we're not as advertised. Although it was clean and comfortable The owner and caretakers were friendly and helpful Some amenities need to be improved. We stayed for the month of February and enjoyed our stay very much. The facilities are acceptable although somewhat Spartan. I would recommend the facility to those looking for comfortable housing at a reasonable cost.

Older little casita

We stayed in the 2 bedroom casita in Dragoon for 5 nights/6 days while bouncing around the southwest. First of all—know that this place is older. The owners are in the process of cleaning up and fixing up a property with a main home as well as several casitas. The.casita we stayed in was very clean. It had two excellent beds, a great shower (a little short ceiling) and an adequate kitchen area (could use a few dishes/cups/cooking utensils etc+++but we did fine) The hiking around the area is breathtaking and fun—-easily done by any age group The owners/caretakers are extremely available for anything you need. As I said they are continuing to renovate so it won’t be long until it’s a 5 star rating. Maxine and Kevin checked on us several times
