About this property
Oakleigh - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
This three-bedroom retreat is in a peaceful North Yorkshire hamlet, surrounded by stunning countryside views – a prime spot for outdoor enthusiasts. You’ll be nestled between the world-famous Yorkshire Dales (4 miles) and the Forest of Bowland National Landscape (1 mile), with so much to explore if you’re walkers or cyclists. The bustling market town of Settle (4 miles) is brimming with character, with its historic stone cottages including 76 listed buildings, and winding ginnels (walled alleys). It also gives you access to the Settle-Carlisle railway line. Nature lovers will be spoilt for choice with Malham Cove’s breathtaking limestone amphitheatre (10.5 miles) and the cascading waterfalls of Ingleton (13.5 miles). Further afield, the vibrant town of Skipton (17.5 miles) makes for a fantastic day out.
Inside this homely escape, warm wooden accents create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. Tasteful local artwork fills the walls. On arrival, shed your coats and boots in the entrance hallway before stepping into the lounge, a snug haven with a crackling open fire, sofa space and bay windows overlooking the garden. The well-equipped kitchen/diner is complete with a wooden dining table for meals and leads out to a handy rear porch. The downstairs also features a comfortable double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, you'll find a peaceful single room, a spacious double bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Outside, the large enclosed garden is a true haven with its lush lawn, leafy foliage and paved patio area with outdoor seating – wonderful for al fresco dining. Relax around the table and enjoy long, lazy evenings with your loved ones, surrounded by nature. There is also an opportunity to visit a local smallholding and meet a variety of animals – please ask the owner for details.
