About this property
Family home by Sobo beach
This recently modernised home is on a generous corner plot overlooking a leafy park (playground, tennis and bowls). We are 5 mins from Sobo beach and also walking distance to local and independent shops, fish n chips, cafes and restaurants on the lovely Southbourne Grove.
Southbourne is an ideal base to explore this gorgeous part of the world - Hengistbury Head & Christchurch; the New Forest a bike ride away and the Purbecks and World Heritage Jurassic Coast over the ferry from Sandbanks.
The space
The house is ideal for families (sleeps 4 adults and 2 children) and is well kitted out for kids. Board games, Lego, Hotwheels, dolls house, lots and lots of books and colouring/craft materials. It ideal for age 3+ as we don't currently have stair-gates or a cot (but feel free to bring yoiur own).
Dowstairs: The spacious open-plan kitchen diner with bi-fold doors leads out to an enclosed rear garden. The new sustainable plywood kitchen includes a walk-in larder; island with induction hob and breakfast bar; 2 ovens and microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and separate utility with washing machine and tumble-dryer.
The separate TV/games room has plenty of seating with 2 sofas + arm-chair, and patio doors out to the rear garden.
The newly renovated downstairs bathroom is well fitted out with a walk-in shower for post-swim warming up.
Upstairs: The master bedroom with superkingsize bed looks out over the park and grade II listed water tower with views to St Catherine's Hill in the distance; listen to the sea on quiet nights from the second bedroom with kingsize bed; and next door the kids room sleeps 2 on bunk beds. All bedrooms are double aspect. There is a family bathroom with shower over bath and a separate toilet.
The house was recently renovated and the garden is still to be landscaped. The south-facing garden has lots to keep children busy with an 11x8ft trampoline with netting, a tree-swing, swing-ball, ride-on toy tractor, and a lawn area. The fire-pit is situated in a rustic overgrown part of the garden, deliberately kept wild for wildlife, and is a hit with the kids for roasting marshmallows.
The in and out private driveway has parking for up to 3 cars.
Please note we have a friendly cat who will be in and out of the house. We would love you to feed her. Please let us know if this is a problem.
Bed linen and towels provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
