About this property

Charming Old Vermont Farmhouse: Rental

This fully refurbished farmhouse circa 1797 has authentic antique charm and modern convenience. Located in rural Richmond Vermont, it is surrounded by farmland and forest with easy access to Burlington and Bolton Valley, Stowe and Sugarbush ski resorts. It is available year round for winter and summer weekly rentals. Close to delightful river swimming holes and infinite hiking possibilities.

This 2,000+ square foot home features 3 bedrooms, sleeps 5-6 comfortably. Extra guests for $25/person/night. Office with desk space and high speed wireless internet access. Two bathrooms with showers. Super-long antique claw foot tub in upstairs bath. Full laundry in upstairs bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen. Pumpkin-pine wide board floors. Jotul gas fireplace stoves in kitchen. Comfortable antique furnishings. TV, Stereo and DVD set up in living room. Spectacular views of Mt. Mansfield from porch, gardens, kitchen and master bedroom. No smoking in house or barns. We don't allow dogs, in part because our cat, Woody, comes with the rental. He is very friendly, but has a thing about dogs.

Explore our 65 acres: a small wading stream called Johnny Brook, a fun sledding hill and miles of trails out our back door for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and hiking. Gas barbeque grill. And enjoy our organic garden vegetables, herbs and berries during summer.

Five miles from the village of Richmond (Home of the historic Round Church, delightful restaurants, a great grocery store and quaint shopping opportunities).

Farmhouse Retreat

The farmhouse was a lovely country retreat. Fresh eggs and milk, along with homemade cookies were waiting for us upon arrival. The owners were readily available to answer questions. We were offered fresh vegetables and flowers from the garden. It was a lovely stay.

Quintessential Vermont

Tucked into the Vermont countryside, this property offers antiques, art, gardens, a barn chickens, and awesome views. The owners, Patty and Jeff, are generous in offering their lovingly restored / updated farmhouse, the oldest part dating to the 1780's. They were accessible and responsive to any questions we had. The house is solar powered and comfortable, a space to create wonderful memories. We delighted in picking and eating seasonal vegetables from the garden and fresh eggs from the chickens that were a joy to feed. This is a great place to take in the beauty of Vermont -- with easy access to nearby towns, Richmond and Hinesburg, and about a 25 minute drive to Burlington. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our experience at the farmhouse and would return in a hearbeat!
