About this property
The Hut, Walberswick
The Hut is a unique holiday home sitting in an idyllic spot in the charming village of Walberswick with parking for one car and a rustic garden. Interiors are simple yet comfortable with fantastic uninterrupted views across the marshes to Southwold harbour. There's a wood burner for chilly nights in the open-plan living space which runs through to the kitchen a double and bunk rooms in the hut with a modern bathroom, and a separate double and shower room in the annexe. The perfect gem for a nostalgic English seaside holiday!
GROUND FLOOR
The door opens into the open plan T-shaped hall in this detached single storey holiday hut, leading to the kitchen off to the right and the living area to the left. Doors open to the double room, bunk bedroom and bathroom, with wooden and tiled floors running throughout. There’s also double glazing throughout in addition to the wood burner (please bring your own logs etc. or purchase from the village shop) and electrec radiators to keep you cosy.
LIVING ROOM
Soak up the stunning view over the marshes to Southwold through the picture window in this relaxed room with casual chairs, coffee table and wonderful wood burner. There’s no TV but games and jigsaws to entertain you.
The kitchen is simply equipped for preparing basic meals with a baby Belling with two rings; a microwave; a fridge with two shelves, a veg drawer and an ice compartment; a toaster and kettle, and a washing machine. There’s also a gate leg table and a couple of stools.
BUNK ROOM
Three open tread steps from the living space take you to this cosy bedroom with bunk beds and a chest of drawers.
DOUBLE ROOM
This cabin style bedroom is at the front of the house, furnished with just the double bed and a bedside stool with a lamp.
BATHROOM
Fitted with a bath and both hand and rain showers over it, a wash basin, WC and natural light.
ANNEXE BEDROOM
Wake to the birdlife on the marshes in this beautifully designed room lined in beech plywood, where the light floods in through the picture window and glass ceiling. The bed is a double and sits between stylish drawer units. A fan is provided for summer months as it can get rather hot with all the sunshine!
EN-SUITE SHOWER ROOM
The modern shower cubicle is adjacent to the bedroom (as opposed to interconnected) and has an electric hand shower and there’s a WC, wash basin and heated towel rail.
OUTSIDE
The hut is hidden in a peaceful spot overlooking the marshes, yet just a couple of minute’s walk to picturesque Walberswick with two fantastic pubs, shops and cafes; over the bridge, or by ferry to Southwold.
A gate takes you to the path with the hut on the right, annexe separately on the left up a couple of steps, and the garden beyond with plenty of lawn for running around or simply relaxing and soaking up the idyllic location. You’ll find a couple of directors chairs in the hut and a table and benches for meals in the fresh air. Children and dogs do need to be supervised as there’s water in the channel over the fence in the field surrounding the garden and the ancient wall at the bottom of the garden is unsafe for climbing on.
There’s parking for one car only in front of The Hut. There is a parking permit for a 2nd car to park in the beach or harbour car parks but please be sure to return the permit to avoid a £10 charge.
There is a stream with water in it over the wall and fence surrounding the property. Children should not play unsupervised in the garden
