About this property
Cwmbach - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
Lying in a secluded valley leading to the beautiful Cwmtydu Cove, this delightful reverse-level retreat offers glorious rural views and tranquil walks across a glorious corner of the Ceredigion countryside. The beach at Cwmtydu is just 800 metres away, a lovely secluded beach which was used by French brandy smugglers in the past. The bay is also known as Seals Bay due to the large colony of grey seals occupying the waters. Just along the coast to the north are the peaceful Castell Bach Bay and the lovely Cwm Silio Beach (both within a mile), leading along to the popular coastal resort of New Quay (5 miles), which has a great choice of pubs and restaurants, and attractions including the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre. Heading inland, attractions include the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron, Theatr Felinfach and Cae Hir Gardens, all within 15 miles.
A charming stone pathway leads up to the entrance of this enchanting reverse-level cottage then through into a welcoming hallway. A staircase leads up and into a beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which sits beneath a characterful high vaulted and beamed ceiling. The cheerful lounge features plenty of seating, a Smart TV and an ornamental wood burner. On the other side of an eye-catching central divide, there’s a sweet central dining table for four set against a fully equipped and elegantly arranged kitchen. Returning to the ground floor you will have a choice of two cosy double bedrooms, each with traditional wooden ceiling beams. This floor also features a stylishly designed shower room.
From the main living area, step outside onto a spacious decked space with plenty of outdoor seating, offering an ideal spot for dining alfresco as you take in the magnificent surrounding views or choose to sit by the outdoor fire pit in the adjoining garden, ideal for stargazing in this dark sky location. Private parking is available for one car.
